*****When your woman gets mad at you , you run out in the middle of the night to the nearest convienence store and buy her one of those cheap roses to get you out of the doghouse.*****
Doghouse Rose is a high energy band that is Rock in motion. We believe in entertaining a crowd and not just standing there like your shoes are nailed to the stage. Their songlist includes such artists as The Rolling Stones,The Beatles,Aerosmith,Ted Nugent,Jimi Hendrix,Tom Petty,Buck Cherry,Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many more! So if your looking for great music and entertainment Doghouse Rose is the band for you!
Sometime around 1994 four musicians came together and became the band Freeride. They rehearsed for a month and landed a 6 month gig at Castaway's in Littleville, Alabama. After that they began playing at the Oasis Club in Littleville.
The gig was Friday and Saturday nights from 8:30pm-4:00am. During this period one by one all the original members left the band except Ricky Pierce who replaced them with other musicians, such as J.J.Bartlett,and held the gig for 4 straight years! They also played other clubs from Jasper, Alabama to Lawrenceburg, Tenn., and opened for T. Graham Brown in 1998 at the Keller Festival.
Ricky Pierce performed at The World Famous Tootsie's Orchid Lounge in Nashville on New Years Eve 2004. In the spring of 2005 Ricky was chosen out of 150 songwriters by Walt Aldridge to be in his workshop at ASCAP in Nashville .Ricky has a song he wrote with Shooters guitarist Barry Billings on a motion picture soundtrack.Ricky has performed at the Muscle Shoals Songwriter's Showcase in 1997 & 1998 and with Tommy Glasgow in 1998 also.
In 2005 Ricky formed Doghouse Rose with Gary Romans,J.J. Bartlett, and Wade Faulkner. They have been rockin in the Shoals and Jasper areas ever since! In December 2006 Chad Bradford recorded Cornbread Fed, a song he wrote with Ricky and Tommy Glasgow , it was released as a single in Jan. 2007. It went to 70 on the Billboard Charts.
Update !
Freeride / Threepeace guitarist J.J. Bartlett is back with a big batch of pointy guitars ! Those of you familiar with the Shoals area's best-kept musical secret will be happy to hear he hasn't changed , visibly aged , or calmed down even a little bit ! J.J. is currently deeply involved in production for the second Project:Brainstorm album , once again singlehandedly screaming all vocals and playing all instruments through the magic of overdubs . Project:Brainstorm MP3 downloads recently topped 10,000 and are available free from the Project:Brainstorm myspace page !
J.J. heavily plays and highly recommends Dean Guitars and Basses . Because they rule .
