I was born and raised in Queens NYC. I like to do many different types of things and have many different interests some of which at times clash. lol I can go to a rock concert one night, a Broadway show the next and a museum the next. I love to explore and learn new things and will never turn down an opportunity to learn something new. I love to go to the movies, listen to music (All kinds), write music and poetry. I'm the Bassist in two great bands which sound nothing like one another lol Human X and Narayan . I'm always up for working with other musicians or taking on new projects. I love playing music. It is a great release! I love animals and the outdoors. and have the sweetest pit bull in the world Zoe Reese I'm very much a city boy but I like to go horseback riding and hiking in the country. I like to walk around Manhattan with no destination in mind. I have a beautiful little 9 year old girl who is my life. I'm very outgoing, caring and open-minded. I am usually up to do anything that's fun. I love to go out but also like to just be a home body at times, pop in a DVD order take out and just relax. If you want to chat with me im me. on AIM I'm progman716 and on yahoo I'm Graffix0214
Music Bio: It all started when I was around 4 years old. My aunt who was a teenager at the time was into what is now called classic rock. Pink Floyd, Kiss, Led Zep, Sabbath etc.. I can remember my two favorites were Pink Floyd's The Wall and Kiss's Destroyer. At 4 I knew every word to every song on the wall album. I look back at it now and I'm like wow I must of been a pretty cool kid. lol At age 4 I LOVED kiss. I had everything kiss. kiss dolls, kiss lunch box (even though I wasn't in school yet) I had kiss EVERYTHING. When I finally turned 5 and started school I brought in a picture of kiss for show and tell. lol My favorite was Ace. I wanted to be just like him. I went as far as to tell my mom that I changed my name to Ace and she better start calling me that! lol I can remember getting into my aunt's make up and trying to recreate Ace's face paint but I was only 4 and usually just wound up making a mess. I would go to the closet and get this dust pan that hand a long handle on it and I would put the kiss destroyer record into the record player and BLAST it and play air guitar pretending to be Ace from kiss.. shit I didn't even know what air guitar was at that age lol I look back on it now and I see that even at 4 I was drawn to music and I knew it was something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I knew it at 4!!! wow... the funny thing is I didn't realize that I knew it back then until I got older. I started playing guitar at 12 and by 14 had switched to bass because my idol at the time (Nikki Sixx from Motley Crue) was a bass player so I figured why am I playing guitar when the guy I idolize is a bassist? I took lessons with this guy named kebin.. no that's not a typo his name was keBin. lol anyway i studied with him for a while even after he had stopped teaching. years later he told me why he kept me on as a student and I'll never forget his words "Patrick, I kept you on as a student because you have all the markings of a great artist, you just have to find your outlet but I have always seen this in you and that is why i kept you on as a student after I stopped teaching" these words stay with me to this day and sometimes ring in my ears "You have the markings of a great artist, you just need to find your outlet"I played bass with a couple bands until I was about 16 and then had stopped because I was discouraged and honestly was scared of failure and didn't think I was good enough to play. Years went by and I never picked up an instrument. I got married and it was then that I feel like music started calling to me again after all those years. It started as a chain of events that got me back into playing. First my ex wife bought me an acoustic guitar and I would just fiddle around with it here and there then we went to a roger water's concert after not going to a concert in YEARS and I remember looking at the stage turning to my now ex wife and saying "That's where I belong, That's where I'll be happiest" After that I remember playing with the guitar one day and I hit three notes that sounded really familiar so I kept playing them until I thought of the song. it was I could have lied by the red hot chilli peppers. I played the cd and just listened and from those 3 notes I got 4, then 5 then within 15 minutes I had the whole intro guitar part figured out. I had NEVER known I could do that or had an ear like that especially after not playing in years. I called my ex wife at work all excited and played it over the phone for her and her response was "What are you stupid?" and I said "huh? I just figured this out and you're asking me if I'm stupid?"ex:"No, Why are you not doing anything with your talent, why are you letting it just waste away"me:"talent? I don't have talent"ex: "yes you do!, Do you think anyone can just listen to a song and start to play it ten minutes later"me: "yes everyone that has good hearing could"ex:"NOOOOOO you really need to get off your ass and do something with your talent"so that started it.... then years later I got divorced and again the music started calling but it was louder... I gave in got a bass and started playing again.. I've been playing again now for over 2 years and I will never stop. I love it. I got to play some of the NYC clubs I use to dream about playing when I was a kid. my family and friends have all seen me play and that's another thing I use to dream about when I was a kid. I went from not playing at all to playing CBGB's, playing in front of the singer from Coheed and Cambria, it's surreal... it was a HUGE deal for me to play CBGB's. Just thinking about all the famous people that have played there. All the legends that have been on that very stage that I played on. I'm really glad I got to play there a few times before they closed.. otherwise it would have just been a lost dream.. I'm not out to be a rock star I just want to play and have fun doing it. I'm living my dream even if I never get the fame or money.Music is my love and my passion.. am I the best musician? HELL NO.. but I play because I love to play, I love to express myself through what I play and let my emotions pour through my fingers. I completely let go and feel truly free.Music can make you laugh, it can make you cry, It can make you think about your life and the years that have gone by, it can heal your soul and it's known to make broken hearts once again whole, it can move you in so many ways it can leave you speechless without anything to say. Music can make you feel happy or sad music can always lift you up when things get bad. music can heal all wounds yes it's true. playing music is all i ever want to do. music makes the world go round and is there to pick you up when you are down
