To me, being a hero, or acknowledging someone As a hero, would mean they somehow had or have a profound impact on my life. There are Very few outside my parents and family, and of course God, that meet this criteria.
There are those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty, who have given All. I am thinking of the guys on the flight of civilians that gave their all to bring down a terrorist hijacked plane into a Pennsylvania field, in order to save others. Yes, this Certainly defines 'Hero', in my book!
