FLASHBACK "The Classic Rock Experience"

THE BIRTH OF THE WORLD'S MOST INCREDIBLE CONCERT EVENT

Performed by The Mystic Orchestra , Flashback—The Classic Rock Experience is a largescale arena production combining 6 truckloads of intelligent lighting with a monumental laser light show and pyrotechnics display.Licensed vintage video as well as newly produced video and animations shown on 7 screens around the arena (including on an inflatable 30-foot zeppelin housing two 10-foot screens which will float tethered below the scoreboard at mid-audience position). Flashback will accompany live performances by approximately 30 musicians and vocalists, showcasing the music, bands and icons of the 60’s and 70’s Classic Rock era such as Led Zeppelin, The Moody Blues, Three Dog Night, Chicago, The Doors, Elvis and John Denver, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Rod Stewart, Deep Purple, Steppenwolf, Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd.The tour starts August 27th in Mobile, Alabama.Tickets will be available 90 days prior to the show through the venue or the usual ticket vendors...

For several years, I was a member of the international project band "The Tangent". This group was comprised of many great prog-rock-musicians of our time.They include:Andy Tillison, Roine Stolt, Jonas Reingold, David Jackson, Theo Travis, Krister Jonsson, Zoltan Csörsz, Jaime Salazar, Sam Baine, Guy Manning, Jakko Jakszyk ... and others...

I was born in 1962 and all my conscious life, since being a child, I have been attracted towards various directions in art, and most of all pictorial and musical arts. I have been a music fan from the age of 10, so during such a long time I have heard a whole lot of groups and styles. I would like to say that I am a big admirer of rock-music! Music, which is pleasant to me, is my inspiration and most of all stimulates my further creative activity.
Being the musical gourmet I think I am, I was very pleased, when public interest swung to the returning modern art - progressive - rock - music. I always liked very much the synthesis of art - rock, classic - progressive - rock, and symphonic styles! I was delighted listening to the music of the new group The Flower Kings! They play in my favorite styles. I along with many of my friends and colleagues, for a long time, dreamed of hearing such music again. I think that actually the best progressive - music now is produced again in the World. I was also very pleased that they chose to continue with the choice of fantasy themed artwork.
Some time back, I was engaged professionally in painting, ceramics, sculpturing, and participated in various exhibitions. Then in a printing business where I was engaged in editorial activity and designs for musical and media advertising printed material. For the first time I sat down at a computer-table in 2002, and realized for myself, that I want to devote myself to the creation of computer artworks. It is almost as though I really live in some of these fantasy worlds, so I have to make up my own picture stories to express this.
At one time earlier I read an interview of the leader of the legendary Yes - Jon Anderson, and the truth of his words, have remained with me for a long time. The journalist had asked him a question - "why does he use the computer in creation of musics? What Jon answered, was by way of saying, ' ... with an axe it is possible to chop of someone's head, if this axe is in the hands of a hangman, but it is possible to construct a ship, if the axe is in a hands of the carpenter ... ' These words became my motto!
I also like to let my imagination run these ways and believe that the Universe, Time and Space, as well as super-abilities of the Human are now the number one theme priorities for humankind. Developments, that had happened in Chernobyl, in New York, demand an enormous human heroism, although similar incidents were described before in fantasy books and movies. Therefore, I think that many "fantastic" ideas are actually prophetical. I also like very much the new internationalism of music projects.
In addition, all my new friends are musicians of the super-class! It does not depend on the country in which they live any more, and it not is an obstacle for joint creativity! Yes, I am very proud of them. Without them, I could not have done it.
When I first dared to show my artwork for Roine Stolt, I was not actually expecting anything from it, because I had not enough practice on the computer, but I was lucky! I have designed a CD cover for a special fan club release by The Flower Kings.

Thanks to Roine also, I was put in touch with the leader of Parallel or 90 Degrees - Andy Tillison. I was delighted to be asked to participate in the Tangent. This was a great project involving some super musicians from Sweden and England. It has been a great pleasure for me - to be involved in this international creativity!
It was a dream come true when my artwork first appeared on commercially released album sleeve - The Tangent's 'Music That Died Alone' - was voted 'Artwork of the Year' in 2003 by readers of the Dutch Progressive Rock Page . The new artwork for The Tangent II, 'The World That We Drive Through' shared 2nd place with Carl Glover's 'Marbles' for Marillion in 2004. Artwork for Tangent III, 'A Place in the Queue'; and Oresund Space Collective 'All About Delay' were both nominated for their outstanding artwork covers in the 2006 Italian Prog Awards.
People say my work on the Tangent III album is equally awe-inspiring. The Tangent music was nearly a year in the making. The new lineup of The Tangent completed their recording in November 2005, a year to the day after the very first live show the band ever performed. The album, "A Place in The Queue" is what the band describes as "a double album on a single CD".
The artwork collaboration manifested the Tangent's music into a multidimensional visual representation of the Tangents music bringing together music and art in its highest forms. Tangent is anticipating yet another exciting musical treat with more of the infamous Ed Unitsky ™ Artwork in 2007.

Now I come to the most important part of the site. I am very glad to present to your attention some graphical works, which I have made on my PC exclusively for music CD covers. If my ideas could help you designing your disks, I would be very happy to talk with you about your project.
