Harpo started by banging on pots and pans at the young age of four. At age five "Santa" brought him a set of drums for Christmas and he began playing from there. Harpo taught himself up until age nine when his parents had him start taking lessons from a well-known drum teacher in Salt Lake City. After six months of lessons, Harpo's teacher pulled his parents aside and said, "I feel guilty for taking your money because I am not teaching your son anything... he's been teaching me." Harpo started playing professionally at the age of eleven by playing at junior high schools, church dances, assemblies, and wherever else he could play. He put together his first band (The Undertakers) in the seventh grade. They practiced every chance they had. They were playing three to four times a week, especially on the weekends. In high school, Harpo started the first Harpo Skank band. They found themselves traveling on the road and going from town to town playing at least five nights a week. They were traveling and playing months at a time playing throughout the United States and Canada. From there, Harpo moved to Denver, Colorado for four years and played the circuit there, like Mr. Luckys, My Sweet Lass, The Godfather, Lyle Alzados, etc. Doing studio work, playing the circuit for AME with other drummers, such as, Randy Castillo, Jay Schellen, etc. From there, the whole band moved to Los Angeles trying to reach for bigger dreams. They were called Masque after an album from Kansas, which Harpo's bass player was the bass tech for Dave Hope. Playing, this was the '80s, on the Sunset Strip with bands such as, Ratt, Twisted Sister, Winger, Motley Crue, etc. Harpo lived there for another four years. Played clubs, like The Troubadour, Gazzaris, The Roxy, The Whiskey, etc. From there, he came back to Salt Lake City to regroup Harpo Skank and get a well-deserved break. Started a new Harpo Skank in 1987 and played until 1990. Then Harpo joined a band called The Nite Owls and opened shows for bands like, Black Oak Arkansas, Spirit, Canned Heat, Iron Butterfly, New Riders of the Purple Sage, etc. Now, he is a Pro/Studio drummer and A&R representative talent scout for A Frosty J Productions (ASCAP) - http://FrostyJ.com , and can produce custom drum tracks for those interested. For custom tracks or to have Harpo tour with your band as drummer please call A Frosty J Productions (ASCAP) representative in USA @ 1 (801) 730-5818. Harpo is currently looking for serious people who are interested into making it BIG and people serious enough about joining his band, Harpo Skank. Keep listening for updates and keep an eye out for bulletins as he plans on Harpo Skank getting back out there. Harpo's publisher webpage

Harpo has lots of energy and power that comes through loud and clear! He has total command around the kit. From the looks and sound of this solo, Harpo would definitely be the driving force behind any band!!

BJ Zampa Professional Drummer
In my travels I have been graced by some amazing players , I myself have been fortunate to work with the likes of Yngwie Malmsteen, Tony MacAlpine , Eddie Ojeda and more. Lately I have been a member of House Of Lords , a band that has a long history of great drummers such as Ken Mary and Tommy Aldridge.
With that said Harpo has to be one of the most innovative players I have come across, His playing crosses the divide of rock jazz and fusion and stands alone when it comes to originality. In my eyes Harpo would be a huge asset to any playing situation put upon him.
