About Me

I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) Scott Winkler. Bass guitar; 4/5 string & fretless. Occasional 6 sting git for a little filler color. Formerly residing in Huntington Beach/Costa Mesa, CA., a short relatively worthless stint in Atlanta, GA. and on Long Isl., NY and on back from Akron/Cuyahoga Falls, OH and even way back to Massillon, OH. that I still refer to as 'home'. I've got more than a few years of bass experience and continue to learn. There's some great stuff out there from a LOT of unheard of players. Check out TalkBass.com... Into a groove rock fusion punk gospel kind of reality with a rather chameleon-like approach to workin the groove on other people's songs. Always into bass & drum jammin'. Always woodsheddin' and looking for folks to throw down with here in the Salt Lake valley. Got an idea or a song that you'd like to try a different bass idea on? Let's go.

Band Members: Scarekrow's jam cuts are with Lloyd 'hotboxx' Santos and were recorded live in ''97; they are just various 'off the cuff' throw downs while we we're in OC, CA. You'll also find me occasionally with Hammer Damage in N.E.Ohio, with 'GloryBe' doin' soul & gospel in Salt Lake and I'm also playing worship for the Japanese Church of Christ and sometimes at The Adventure 4 square church in Draper, Ut.These are all excellent hard workin' musicians and I'm proud to be associated with them!
Influences: My greatest player influence would have to be Tim Bogert (the Cactus years)! Followed by the Motown years; Jamerson's wide array of wondrous works and James Brown's outstanding band. Stanley Clarke, Jaco Pastorius and most recently, Bryan Beller and Fred Hammond have really lit a fire under me to hit the shred shed.I'm a pretty big fan of these XM stations; Beyond Jazz, XM Chill, Spirit and sometimes Deep Tracks and X Country. And I will never underestimate the influential drive of a great drummer! Superior mention to Lloyd 'hottboxx' Santos, Brad Lovette , Alphonzo McKee and Mike Wray.Aerosmith, Status Quo, Cactus, JBeck, Return To Forever, Mahavishnu Orch, The Cure, Stevie Ray, The Supremes, Blind Boys of AL, Social D, Elvis Costello, etc.Above all, my greatest and most profound influence has been the supernatural work of Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit! Thank You, Lord.
