Peter Greyy

Atypical topical comedian and master of all ceremonies.

About Me

A former radio and nightclub dj, I began pursuing stand-up comedy seriously in March 2003. I've been lucky enough to be in a town with an active and vibrant comedy scene.
To better promote the Seattle comedy scene, I created the SeattleComedy.net website--an omnibus site that covers the comedy scene in the Pacific Northwest for the benefit of comedians and comedy fans alike.
In 2006, I joined a group of innovative thinking Seattle comedians known as the People's Republic of Komedy who are producing excellent alternative comedy shows in non-traditional venues.
As a member of PRoK, I became the producer of weekly showcase of the best comedy talent in the area called ComedyNight at The Mirabeau Room in Seattle. ComedyNight ran for 31 straight weeks, offering stand-up, sketch, music-based comedy and comedic short films in a very hip and cool venue for a new audience towards seeing live comedy.
The venue closed, the show ended and I am no longer officially a PRoK member, although I continue to support their efforts to bring fresh new comedy talent to new audiences here in Seattle.
After performing in front of a standing room only crowd at the 2006 Bumbershoot festival, becoming a featured performer in Seattle and a headlining performer on the road...my goal for 2007 is to push out further and perform in new markets. So far, I've been lucky enough to perform at ACME in Minneapolis, Comedy Club on State in Madison and The Comedy Spot in Scottsdale...so that plan seems to be working!
Oh...and some of you might recognize my exceedingly long posts on a variety of comedy-based online message boards.

My Interests

Everything.
Seriously...everything.

I'd like to meet:

This MySpace profile has been specifically created to promote my comedy efforts. If you love comedy--either as a performer or as a fan, then I'd love to meet you...and feel free to add me as a friend.
I have another profile on MySpace that I access more regularly--if you'd like to add THAT profile, please send me an add request here .

Music:

I have what has been described as a mindboggling music collection... I try to keep up with cool music coming out as well as being respectful to the memories that 50 years of the rock-era have offered to us... It's harder now that I'm not working in the music industry--but I still try to satisfy my rather omnivorous musical tastes.

Movies:

I own a lot of movies on DVD--but I haven't been seeing as many in the theatre recently. Blame it on Netflix or HBO...or on how there's no real sense of urgency into seeing something on the big screen...but I seem much more willing to wait to see things...
...but I try to see everything I can.

Television:

Much to my girlfriend's chagrin, I tend to have the television on as a constant companion. Whether it's ESPN for Pardon The Interruption or Bravo for Top Chef or CBS for The Amazing Race or ComedyCentral for The Colbert Report or VH1 for Acceptable.TV...there always seems to be something on.

Books:

If you've seen the television, music and movies section...you might notice a pattern. I tend to devour all forms of media--magazines, websites, newspapers...and yes, books, too.
I've got a good library--some modern fiction (Hornby, Coupland, Welsh, Palahniuk, Brooks, McCarthy etc.) some classics and a lot of nonfiction...
I met my match in the reading department by my girlfriend, though. She's my Helen to my TS Garp. (Although, there are certainly parts of that book that I hope we won't duplicate...)

Heroes:

Everyone who hears their name called, gets on stage and manages to deliver the funny... Absolutely, you are ALL my heroes.
