About Me

I’ve been a musician for a long time. I’ve done some really cool things. I’ve played in a lot of great bands and worked with some truly amazing people (both in the studio and on the stage). I’ve toured and played in almost every province and territory across Canada (PEI...I’m heading your way...Yukon...I’ll be there when you host the WCMA’s for sure!)
I write, co-write and record my own material. I love songwriting. It keeps me sane. And there’s nothing more personally rewarding than being able to connect with people through your art. I love the process: starting out with some spark of an idea, bringing it to fruition, then taking it into the studio where all these fantastic people throw their love into it and turn it into something that is really, really wonderful. Yup...that’s what I do!
Other than that, I’m a bit of a mentor as well. I’ve developed and teach songwriting programs for the University of Saskatchewan, CCDE, and I’ve also developed and facilitate a songwriting retreat up at the University of Saskatchewan Emma Lake Kenderdine Campus. Ahhh...it’s a beautiful place - ideal for getting away from cell phones and the craziness of day-to-day life and into an environment where you can just relax, enjoy the sunset and be...creative. Life is pretty darned good.
I live in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. If you’ve ever heard anything negative about this place don’t believe it - it’s not true. Yes, I admit, it does get super freakin’ cold here at times but as far as I’m concerned, we have got the warmest and most vibrant little music community in Canada. There must be something in our water that causes all these kids to become guitar prodigies because we definately have more than our fair share. And, on any given night, you can go out to listen to all kinds of live music and bump into all kinds of musical friends along the way.
Anyhoo, thanks for checking in and checking out the tunes. If you’re interested in getting to know me better, feel free to visit my website: http://www.kimfontaine.ca.Take care.
Love this Video - Jen Lane, DJT, SmokeKiller and myself were warming up before a show we did in Austin, Texas.
