Thanks for listening in to my debut co-host and for requesting a CD!
Lyn
My debut full lenth CD "ALL OVER THE MAP" has arrived! (available online at www.musicmax.ca) The title of the CD answers the question "so Lyn, what kind of music do you write?"
I am a Saskatoon born & raised singer/songwriter and I'm finally, finally taking my music out of the bathroom (best acoustics in the house) & into the rest of the world.
I come from a family who love to sing at every occasion – from doing the dishes to family reunions. I bought my first guitar at age 12 for $10 and a stick of Wrigley's Doublemint gum, and had my first ever “paying” gig at 14. Ironically, “the pay” was $10 and then someone offered me a stick of Wrigley's Doublemint gum! I've been writing songs for years.....the difference is that now I'm finishing them!
2008 was a stellar year for me...finished a full length album; played my first festivals; played my first house concert; found my stride as a songwriter; attended some fabulous songwriting workshops; did some co-writing; made some amazing new friends! It's all good!
2009 is looking fabulous....
THE CARDINAL IN THE WINDOW CD (2007) The song was written for Earl McGinnis, my father-in-law who died from cancer on June 2nd, 2007. This labour of love is a single song - two track CD (vocal & instrumental tracks) recorded to raise money for cancer research.
THE CARDINAL IN THE WINDOW VIDEO.....(be sure to shut off the player above first or you'll hear two different songs at the same time)
CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY QUOTE ON THE CD JACKET:
"Cancer is the leading cause of premature death in Canada. Every Canadian family has been touched by this devastating disease. Please support THE CARDINAL IN THE WINDOW PROJECT. Funds raised will help fund research on all types of cancer & improve the lives of Canadians living with Cancer. Let's make cancer history!" www.cancer.ca
