About Me

We've been kicking around since 1987. Also known as the Saskatchewan Recording Industry Association or SRIA (if you've been around long enough), SaskMusic is a non-profit member based organization that promotes and develops Saskatchewan music, artists and industry professionals on a provincial, national, and international level. We are based in Regina, but work with members across the province.
And now, you're asking yourself...what exactly does that mean? Membership has it's benefits...

Career Tracks
Members can meet with SaskMusic staff to discuss career plans, marketing strategies, touring plans, songwriting and copyright, demo critiques, funding, SaskMusic, industry trends, etc. There are no additional fees to members for this service. And, SaskMusic staff do travel around the province, while offering phone, email and in-office consultations.
SaskMusic Grant Programs
We fund demo projects, marketing initiatives, tours, and network/study travel opportunities. We are also reps for FACTOR, www.factor.ca , the national funding organization. And our staff works with our members to tag into the other funding programs. Yep! There is money out there to support you making music.
Information
The Session (our newletter) has been hailed as one of the best of the country (and we're darn proud of that!). It keeps you connected to the national and international organizations and events, performance opps, tips, interviews, and the hottest business and creative topics. A one-stop for all your info needs. We also send out an e-release every two weeks to make sure you are tagged into everything.
Opportunities
Networking with the best of the best in the music biz, gigs, television and film placement...just a few of the opportunities that our members have received by being connected to SaskMusic. What are you waiting for?
Workshops and Education
SaskMusic offers an extensive series of workshops to get our members moving from one stage of their careers to the next. Last year, we had the movers and shakers in management, labels, distribution, retail, songwriting, and music supervision...it's impossible to get to some of these folks otherwise. Knowledge is key in the new music business...Power Up! This is your business.
Our web site, www.saskmusic.org , is one of the most extensive sites in the Canadian Music Industry! Discover us now!
We love Saskatchewan Music! And, we work hard, and we play hard. We do whatever we can to support our members....from the emerging highschool garage bands to the seasoned folk artist. We work with artists from all genres...and if you are in the Saskatchewan Music industry, WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!
If you're a fan of music, check out our friends below...many are Saskatchewan artists. Give the music a listen...and if you hear something you like, and need help tracking it down, send us a message!
To our artist and industry friends, check out the weekly BLOGS....our musings, thoughts, and findings in all things relating to music (and then some).
