Bella's Dark GraphicsBIO:
Born and raised primarily in the maritime provinces,Stefen was always
aware he
noticed intricate details in everything that surrounded him but never
understood the full potential of showing others his gift until some 30
years
later.
From very early on Stefen made the love of his environment a large part
of his
photographic work. This love is blended into a professional
photographic career
forming unique fresh perspectives with high-end images. One of stefen's primary strengths is in his diversity of photographic
skills and
design. His experience and skill ranges from model agencies to large
commercial
clients, including weddings and wildlife. His technique is transferred
from one
application to another with an
out of the box approach that his clients are drawn to. Great care and
attention are paid to those clients in order to create the best
possible
results
by listening intently to their visions and working as a team to bring
those
visions to life.Understanding that one person cannot stand alone, Stefen has taken
great pride
in associating himself with top professionals in the industry, in such
capacities as, producers, graphic- designers, printers, editors and
musicians.
Along with strong industry associates and Stefen?s relentless passion
for
photography, a high end quality product is always priority one.
ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
A 150 years ago the first photographic images were created. The miracle
of this
art form does not lay with any one photographer, the credit still
belongs to
the artists long before the camera. They had the visions and mastered
the
incredible ability to recreate it on canvas, paper, out of stone or any
other
surface that would take an image. Since then, much has happened in the
world.
Photographers are the most recent recipients of technology With the
tools
(still, video, film or digital cameras) becoming more sophisticated
everyday.
Now it is hard to even imagine being without them. Some of the finest
photography today can come from a cardboard throw-away or a digital
camera. I
have been photographing the world around me for many years and have a
great
deal of respect for the artform. Not every minute of those years was
spent on
photography. Not all of the nearly 10,000 images I have taken are
perfect. The
images are my interpretation of many things most of us do not even take
the
time to notice or appreaciate for the true beauty that lies in
everything
around us. One can find something of interest without much effort if
one
chooses to take a single moment of their time, from the look of a child
to the
last minutes of the sun as it sets in the west reflecting off the
water's edge
shining with a soft tinted glow. This aproach, along with the parallel
and
conceptual influences of my recent exposure to other photographers,
gives my
work a multi-layered quality; mystical at times, pragmatic and
structured at
others. I am deeply attracted to the notion of opposites...ambiguity,
good,
evil, chaos, order, positive, negative, complexity and simplicity; my
work
falls within the paremeters of those qualities.
