Fresh on the heels of 25-30 performances in the UK Ash Jones has returned to his hometown of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to finish what he started."Its been a strange year. Alot of the plans became unglued and unforunately due to a variety of circumstances we were unable to finish the album while I was in London. The positive side is I've really grown and matured artistically this last year and have a fresh perspective on the old material and a ton of new ideas begging for actualization. I can honestly say the album tentatively titled "Better Part of You" will see the light of the day very soon."Musically Ash combines Goo Goo Dolls with Ben Harper carving out a musical niche all of his own. Combining the essential elements of poetry, pop sensibility, innate musicianship with powerful thought invoking melody, Ash fishhooks the auditory and visual participants with raw emotion and sincerity."Everything I write comes from personal experience, i'm basically just trying to delve inside people and connect with the array of emotions life has to offer."After years of honing his craft in the trenches of the Saskatchewan acoustic scene, Ash released his debut independent release Crashing Down in 2002. The title track was instantly well received, earning Ash a place in the top 12 out of 10,000 entries in the 2003 Canadian National Songwriting Competition. The regional victory garnered radio play for Crashing Down on Rawlco's Rock 94 in Regina. For the last three years Ash has been working with Vetran Canadian rockers Angelo Frassetto, Steve Bunka, and Kyle Kildaw from the Touchtone Gurus to perform on and produce his upcoming sonic portrait."Its been a long three years But at the end of it all we've created something that we know is really powerful and meaningful. These tunes will hook ya for sure, but with substance... this album is not just your typical radio candy. We've just about wrapped up this baby, all thats left is to get it out there into the atmosphere and let fate take its course. The album is scheduled for international release late 2007...
