Mainly good comedy. Anything the Monty Python team is involved in, most of Richard Curtis' and Rowan Atkinson's material, well, most British comedy really. Also, series like Prison Break, Six Feet Under, Band Of Brothers, 24, House, all CSI series and most British detectives go down well. Cartoons: Ren & Stimpy, Eek! The Cat and South Park. Come to think of it, I do spend quite a lot of time watching television or DVD's...
Last read: Michael Palin's Full Circle, The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide by Douglas Adams, Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code (hey, one needs to know what one's talking about :)), Sting's Broken Music and poetry by Gerrit Komrij. Recent others: tolkien, Isegawa, Rushdie, Coelho, van der Zijl.
My brother Mats, for his determined approach to life and being a kick ass musician! My late grandfather for working like a mule to support his family without ever complaining, beautifully tough person. A friend of a friend of mine who lost both her parents and a handful of close relatives to cancer and still manages to be one of the most positive and cheerful individuals I've come across. Not so much heroes but definitely big influences on my music have been David Gilmour, Mark Knophler, Brian May, Michael Amott, Erik Rutan, Danny Cavanagh, John Stevens, Michiel Hollanders, Aad Rensink and Arnold Wierda.
