"AMBIENT TROUBADOUR LOST ON A SEA OF CHAMPAGNE....

About Me

if you feel to link to this page please feel free to use the banners above... thank you...
The Pearl Fisher
The submariner dives
Swimming through darkness
Hunting for the spark of a dream
With infinite care he draws strings
Gathering what is
Yearning for a miracle
Pearls rise from the ocean floor seeding the heart of the dreamer
Claiming treasure from the bed of consciousness
The poet cradles each jewel as though it were his own

Greetings fellow travelers !
Thank you for visiting SEAN BOWLEY's myspace page. Back in the 1990's Sean was singer, songwriter and 12 string guitarist for the Australian band EDEN. Eden formed in the late 1980's and had their debut release on Nightshift Records, Scotland UK in 1990. A little while later EDEN switched to Third Mind records located in London's east end. EDEN also had releases on Chicago based label; Projekt and Australia's Heartland records. Since the turn of the century Sean has been learning to peel away the layers of personal histrionics and seeking to live in the present. His musical muse is calling once again and sessions for various CD releases are being undertaken. Sean is looking forward to showing you his new musical shoes via myspace and a series of cd's. There's a website under construction at www.seanbowley.com
A time of change and fresh creativity.
According to Chinese astrology 2008 is the year of change. Seemingly this theme is making its presence very keenly felt in Sean's world. 2008 has started out very well as two Ex-Eden members have joined the recording process and are making contributions to an upcoming cd release. Eden co-founder Pieter Bourke is writing and recording drum, bass, strings and keyboard arrangements. Eden's guitarist extraordinaire Chris Collins is gearing up to contribute guitar and keyboards. It is very exciting to find three members of Eden working together once again.
Later in 2008 we hope to see completion of a cd. The working title for the debut full length cd is LANDLOCKED. Sessions began with Sean Bowley and some time musical collaborator Andrew Kutzer writing and recording material for two full length cd's. Pieter and Chris are joining the process and adding their virtuosity to these recordings.
Currently the sessions for 'LANDLOCKED' are being carried out in three recording studios. Sean's Brother SIMON BOWLEY is mixing and co-producing the recordings at his BAMBOO MIND studio. Simon engineered and co-produced LISA GERARD'S cd releases "WHALE RIDER" and "IMMORTAL MEMORY". Simon is an ambient music artist much in the same vein as Brian Eno and Harold Budd. PIETER BOURKE is writing and recording his contributions at his 33RD DEGREE studio. SEAN BOWLEY is tracking guitars, vocals and some keyboards at SIAM CAT studio. Well known (and loved...lol) sound engineer NICK LARKINS is handling some of the recording sessions at SIAM CAT.
In addition Sean Bowley is working on lyrics and arrangements for two new song cycles. One cycle "ANIMAL HEART PRAYER" is dedicated to his late friend and creative muse "VALI MYERS". The second song cycle titled "AHAVA" consists of ten vocal pieces; each titled in Hebrew. The "AHAVA" song cycle is a treatise on the eternal and trancending essence of love. Both ANIMAL HEART PRAYER and AHAVA will see Sean's ethereal vocal style combined with Middle Eastern and group vocal ensemble motifs. Sean has returned to playing Saz (Turkish lute) after a several year hiatus.
2008 is sure to be a very creative year. Stand by for new songs being added to the mp3 files above. New lyrics, poems and creative musings will also be posted in Sean's myspace blog.
