About Me

Designer, artist, music lover, liberal, proud mom, happy!I design original clothing, accessories, embroidery & applique, sometimes paperdolls of real people, and jewelry. I will be launching my website soon to offer my original patterns. I won't be selling my clothing as ready-to-wear unless someone waves a magic wand and gives me a lot of help to produce these wonderful pieces!!My patterns will be available in standard and custom sizes. My business name is Faye Marraine Designs (Faye Marraine is a play on words of the French for 'Fairy Godmother'). I'll announce the launch of my website here!I'd love to offer a class for teenagers and their moms to create their own "Once Upon A Time" dresses (I can teach all the necessary skills).. and maybe even wedding gowns for a little older group... and "Happily Ever After" dresses.I love nurturing, mentoring and empowering-- in all ways, doing what I can to help people be happy!!I'm a teacher, mom, and former social worker who simply can't keep her hands from creating beautiful things to share!

My Interests

Musical theater, history, costume and culture, all kinds of music. Travel. Gardening. Cats and dogs. Cooking and baking. Writing (poetry, essays, prose, plays). Humor- but never mean-spirited humor. Storytelling. Photography and filmmaking (definitely an amateur here). Any kind of creative process using mind, heart, imagination, eyes, ears, hands, materials, technology. And of course: People, above all, in all their multifaceted wonder!

I'd like to meet:

Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward. Neil Postman. Brian Andreas. Ashleigh Brilliant.
