What the shit is a hippoplatyphant anyway?

About Me

I hate having to write about myself...Yes, I know everyone says that but it's true, I seriously can't think of anything to say and the stuff I do think of sounds SO lame...OK, here we go.... I am a struggling writer and happily married mom of 2 (yes really and sure you can go barf now if you want but I dig being married and being a mom, I dig it like a ditch)...I often find myself yanking my foot out of my mouth but most of my real friends don't mind listening to me ramble as long as it's not 4 a.m. and I'm not puking on their shoes. I like most people I meet until they piss me off or their personality is just so off-putting that I don't waste my time. I have been known to disappear only to pop back up out of nowhere. I do that to EVERYbody. I'm seriously addicted to soda. To say I am bitingly cynical is the understatement of the century and I'm so incredibly normal it's almost disgusting and definitely boring.

My Interests

I'm interested in pretty much everything, there isn't much I'm not interested in. I love to make friends from all over to chat, debate, and talk mainly about books, new music and movies.

I'd like to meet:

Someone who would like to do all of the minute shit I have to do in a day so I can get back to being sidetracked by a whole bunch of other totally unimportant and irrelevant shit...that I will completely obsess over and find justification for while screaming "FARK LAUNDRY AND DISHES!!!"

Music:

My favorite bands can be found in my friends list; my music taste is vast...I like mostly everything BUT country...country music makes my ears bleed. The bands I do have a particular fondness for are Tool, The Cure, DEFTONES, Chevelle, Bright Eyes, Rage Against The Machine, Shiny Toy Guns, Pearl Jam, Primus, Nirvana, The Postal Service (and Death Cab for Cutie), Sevendust, (AFI) A Fire Inside, Weezer, Incubus, NIN, Fall Out Boy, and Marilyn Manson... I've been known to change my favorite song on a whim but my favorite bands pretty much stay the same.

Movies:

Idiocracy, Dead Birds, The Quiet, Apocalypto, Mean Girls, Children of Men, Little Miss Sunshine, Serenity, The Notorious Bettie Page, Donnie Darko, I Am Legend, Gone Baby Gone, Buffalo '66, Memento, Se7en, The Last King of Scotland, 12 Monkeys, Jacob's Ladder, Hellraiser, Evil Dead Trilogy, Sugar, Lady Vengeance, Crash, 28 days later, Revolution .9, Fight Club, Wedding Crashers, Fargo, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, V for Vendetta, Slither, The Usual Suspects, Bubble Boy (yes, you read correctly BUBBLE BOY), In the mouth of madness, Stir of Echoes, Unbreakable, Liar, Liar, Me, Myself & Irene, Encino Man, Ravenous, American History X, Almost Famous, The Saw Trilogy, Benny and Joon, My Life Without Me, The Matrix movies, American Beauty, Kids, ALL KEVIN SMITH FILMS, THX 1138, PI, Daughters of Darkness, Requiem for a Dream, Higher Learning, Rush, The Serpent and the Rainbow, The Last House on the Left, Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Singles, Way Of The Gun, House of Sand and Fog, Final Destination Trilogy, The Aviator, Pulp Fiction, Far and Away, Breaking Dawn, Masters of Horror Series (the first 13 anyway), The Butterfly Effect, Ring, Ellie Parker, Lady in the Water, Heathers, True Romance, Ichi the Killer, The Matchmaker, City of God, Lord of War, Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch, The Manchurian Candidate (yes, the remake), The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Super Troopers, An American Haunting, The Departed (but who doesn't?), Deranged, Deja Vu, Feast, Panic and many more. I could go on and on with this list as well, I try and update it as I see really good ones. I'm kind of a movie snob. I only like good movies and am not fun to watch a movie with if it sucks (but I will make you laugh in spite of yourself).

Television:

FAMILY GUY. MADTV. SNL. I am insanely addicted to talk shows and I should probably seek some sort of professional help for it...I just can't tear myself away from The Adventures of The Royal Family of White Trashitan. That 70's show I will always be a lifelong fan of. CSI:whatevertownthey'reintoday always grabs my attention and I have a love/hate relationship with PBS. I am definitely a news junkie.

Books:

My personal literature heroes are Mark Twain and Chuck Palahniuk. Stephen King also deserves to be mentioned, I have re-read all of his books probably a million times. James Ellroy; If you can't handle reading his stuff, you are no friend of mine. I like a lot of true crime and non-fiction as well. The librarians in all 7 cities here know me by name, yes you may point and laugh at the dork now. *grin* I've always had my face in some book since I was a kid. It's hard to pick just one or a few books, I could start a new library with all of the books I own that I could never give away.

Heroes:

Emily Dickinson.
