Even as a child in Long Island, NY, Scott always had a passion for music. Every chance he could, he’d sing along with the radio, grabbing anything resembling a microphone.
Having a conservative family background, Scott attended the University of Miami where he received undergraduate and Masters degrees in Business. Because music was always in his heart & soul, Scott enrolled in a Jazz Vocal class during his senior year where fate led him to Jon Secada who was the instructor. The two built a budding relationship that resulted in private lessons combined with additional UM Vocal Technique classes.
During this period, several local cover bands hired Scott as a front man. Simultaneously, he put his business skills to good use as a founder of a highly successful computer services company. Eventually, and due to the company’s success, Scott had less time for his musical pursuits.
After a three year absence from the live music scene, and while on vacation in the Caribbean, a karaoke machine became the focus after an evening show. Scott brought down the house and received a number of standing ovations. After returning stateside, a brief return to the live music scene ensued, but a consulting post in New York and then a return to Miami on a business assignment interrupted.
Shortly thereafter, Scott retired from his business start-up and began focusing all his energies into music - specifically composing. An old friend suggested he hone his skills in a local studio with music producer, engineer and BMI writer David Ruttenberg. After a brief conversation, Scott arrived at David’s studio with two, partially completed melodies. Concerned that he didn’t have enough to bring to the party, Scott wondered if he was wasting his time but something wonderful happened as the two hit it off and began producing numerous songs in a variety of genres.
Scott believes that he's finally at home, doing what I should have been doing long ago. Inspired by the melodic music of the 70's, Scott continues to work on his craft with an eye toward sharing his music and passion with everyone.
