"Pressure-Live" DropClutch
One of the most talked about bands to come out of the northeast in years, Dropclutch exploded onto the Upstate NY underground scene in April 2005 with the release of their self-titled debut EP. The eye catching Binghamton hard rock band is fronted by incomparable showman, Shawn Clutch. Driven by the pounding rhythms of Brandon Schuldt, powerful bass guitar of Josh VanDusen, and the blistering yet tasteful guitar work of Billy Burn, Dropclutch have grown together as friends and musicians over the past several years. Together, they have drawn attention from thousands of fans, supporters, record labels, and press worldwide. Armed with their 5 song EP and insane live show, the young band proudly chose to stick with their D.I.Y. ethic and build their following of fans and supporters on their own.
Dropclutch has shared the stage with many artists including Breaking Benjamin, Suicide City, The Drama Club, Joey Belladonna of Anthrax, Brand New Sin, Stemm, Sinaria and many others. They have played in front of many thousands of fans from Washington D.C. to Buffalo, NY. As word quickly spread about the band, Dropclutch was added to many high profile shows such as the 2006 Independent Music Conference in Philadelphia, PA. The band was invited to join Temple of Brutality (with former members of Megadeth and WASP) on a national tour in the spring of 2007. In June 2007 Dropclutch was invited to open for Godsmack in Erie, PA and shortly there after in September 2007 were also invited to play at the Broome County Veterans Arena with Seether, Breaking Benjamin, and Three Days Grace.
Since the release of their self titled debut EP, the young rockers have had amazing success touring all over the Northeast, garnering massive amounts of attention. Dropclutch has developed a loyal fan base and street team that continues to grow everyday. On average, they get around 500+ hits on their website and 50+ friend or fan requests a day on myspace.com. The first single, “Pressure†off of their debut release was one of the most requested songs on many radio stations in the NY and PA areas before the album was even released! “It was amazing to hear that we were the number 2 most requested band in the Southern Tier of New York. Our album hadn't even been released yet and people were already digging what we were doing!†says singer Shawn Clutch.
"Chemical†and “Pressure†were both the number 1 requested song on Guitar Center Radio on seperate occasions and were put on regular rotation at Guitar Center stores nationwide. In March 2008 “Chemical†was also hand picked by Billy Corgan and Jimmy Chamberlin of Smashing Pumpkins to appear along side their song “Super Christ†on Guitar Center's FRESH CUTS VOL. 2!
With their music spreading like wild fire, radio stations worldwide consistently turn on their listeners on to Dropclutch. The band was the featured artist of the month for March 2007 on Destort.com. Unsunghero.com featured Dropclutch on their website in September 2007. Dropclutch has been featured on numerous local publications such as “Sound Check†in the Press and Sun Bulletin.
Dropclutch defines energy and stage presence with every performance and lets it all out on stage. Shawn Clutch's incendiary stage antics and ability to fire up a crowd differentiates Dropclutch from any other band. Schultz's insane and flashy drumming techniques along with the VanDusen brother's amazing musical skills and energetic performances have broken apart many stages! "We love our fans more than the world...†Shawn Clutch explains,"...everything we do is dedicated to them. Without them we are nothing!!!"
Dropclutch recently teamed up with producer and recording mastermind Billy Graziadei (Biohazard, Suicide City) to record their first full-length album “The Reasonâ€, which was released in May 2008. “The Reason†was FMQB's 2 most added album with 28 commercial radio station adds and CMJ Loud's 3 most added album with 92 college radio station adds after it's first week!!!!"
Dropclutch is currently entertaining offers from management and record labels while they tour in support of “The Reason"!
