About Me

Praise for Screams From A Dying World
"You'd likely find his collection of stories dark, imaginative and disturbing. Personally, I love this eclectic collection, and the cover art by Rick Clarke rocks! These are stories that not only entertain, but they stick with you and may even challenge your thinking."
- Bram Stoker award nominated author Fran Friel
"Screams From A Dying World by David Agranoff is a moving reading experience rich with descriptive prose that makes each story come alive and a subtle message that will leave you looking at the world in a whole new way. This chapbook is a welcomed addition to the horror genre."
– Horrorworld
"He creates a nice creepy tone, that will stick in readers' minds" - monsterlibrarian.com
Praise for The Gutter Limits
”And there’s more. A lot more. Each short--the longest spreading over three pages--is nefarious, deliciously lewd, and has some element of original dark humor. The whole chapbook is a page-turner right to the end. This is a quick, easy, delightful read."
- Apex Digest
"There are only three reactions you can have to The Gutter Limits. Confusion, disgust, or 'holy crap' that is the funniest thing that I have ever read."
-David Herrera The Entourage
"...you'll get diabollically exquisite
entertainment from it..."
-John Shirley author of Demons
"Booger Murphy's stories squall and bleat and blast in a cacophony of lo-fi punk fiction. These grimy tales play loose with convention and smear snot on your better sensibilities. Satire, horror, politics-all of it delivered with a knowing sneer and genuine energy."
-Jeremy Robert Johnson author of Angel Dust Apocalypse and Siren Promised
"A revolting book that will make you laugh your ass off. Murphy ought to be chained to the bumper of the nearest pickup and hauled out of town immediately."
-Bill Hughes Editor of Dred Tales Webzine.
"If Booger Murphy did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him--and hang him from a tree, and bludgeon him with baseball bats. Like some freakish literary pinata, he is filled with tiny writers brimming with so much of what the horror genre desperately craves... biting wit, a poet's ear for language, a master satirist's eye for untouchable targets, and that most addictive ingredient of all, fun. Smash The Gutter Limits open and devour its contents with fiendish gusto, then spend the rest of the party gleefully trying to pin the tail on yourself."
-Cody Goodfellow author of Radiant Dawn
"...disgustingly disturbing but always entertaining horror stories."
-San Diego City Beat

Punk Horror is a budding small press who focus on all things Punk and Horror and even better when the two things combine. We love Clive Barker, Richard Matheson, Chuck P., John Shirley. Mainly Punk Horror is run by David Agranoff, Gabriel LLanas, and Paul Stuart.
Born on the internets (or interweb whichever you prefer). David and Gabriel both being nerds who love to read horror fiction started posting in the Grim Reader section of the Rue Mortuary. After several months of this interaction David began to think to himself, "The guy with the screen name iuchiban and I always agree on books, and he did a blog called so he must be a punk.
David had this idea, you see, that he could not stand the way punks are depicted in the movies and on TV. Wouldn't it be rad if there was a whole collection of short stories by punk rock horror writers that had real characters! E-mails were exchanged. Ideas shared. Gabriel you see is a hard worker ( Gabriel says "David wrote that I swear"). We searched for a title and believe you me you don't want to know the ones we didn't pick. But finally it was decided to call this imaginary (as of yet) anthology "The Vault of Punk Horror". We have been having awesome luck getting great authors to sign up for the project but it is still in the future (just not to distance future).
Not wanting to rest on their laurels the two devised a cunning plan to utilize the chapbook idea and create a collection of flash fiction that would make a small name for Punk Horror. So was born the Gutter Limits. With the help of Paul Stuart (yeah the one that David thinks wants to really work Punk Horror shit), and Cari Beltaine (David's amazingly cool wife), Booger Murphy was tracked down and now The Gutter Limits has seen the light of day.
Paul stepped up to the plate and became a full partner in Punk Horror while David stepped back a little bit. With the release of The Vault of Punk Horror still in the distance quite a ways Paul and Gabriel decided to come out with another chapbook. This time a single author collection from Daid Agranoff, Screams From a Dying World. Released just before the new year this collection of politically charged horror and sci/fi is a perfect addition to the Punk Horror library, which David will be taking on a mini book tour soon.
The Vault of Punk Horror. Is finally out as well as interviews with a lot of the people involved with the book!
