About Me

I'm a horror novelist and short story writer from Chicago. My latest short story collection, Needles & Sins , was just released by Necro Publications. Read a free story from the book here: "Needles & Sins" .

Here's a video Lisa Morton took of me during my book signing at www.darkdel.com on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 near Los Angeles. (Thanks Lisa!)

My Interests

READ FREE FICTION:

"Needles & Sins" - After death, your sins may live on, and on, and on...

"Pumpkin Head" - wherein a boy discovers that seducing a pumpkin girl can have dire consequence...

"Vigilantes of Love" - about a voodoo curse that leaves only a bloody stain in adulterous beds...

"The Tapping" - a Poe-esque tale about a graveyard bet and some unquiet bones...

HEAR FREE FICTION:

FreakForum's Halloween 2006 show included a performance of my story "Pumpkin Head" right around the 1-hour mark. You can Download the MP3 or visit the blog at www.myspace.com/freakforum .

Twilight Tales published my book Vigilantes of Love and also created a podcast of my story "The Tapping." It's a Poe-ish tale that you can download and listen to.

INTERVIEWS:

Dark Discoveries #10 features both an interview with me and a short story -- "Star on the Beach." (Summer 2007)
An interview with me talking about Sacrifice as well as my other books is posted at HorrorYearbook.com ! (November 2006)
There's an interview with me on Denise Kaminsky's Interviews and Media News site. (October 2006)

Music:

I was a music critic for more than 20 years (see www.popstops.net ) and so I like a variety of bands. My longtime favorites, however, are The Cure, New Order, Tori Amos, Tanya Donelly, Delerium, Green Day and many more. I also have written music and played with a few bands over the years. I've posted an instrumental song I wrote for Martin Mundt's stage play "The Jackie Sexknife Show" as the background music for this page.
