Don't let this hat fool ya!

About Me

I own an ice cream shoppe in a small town in southern Illinois. I have 13 chickens and a dog, oh..and my husband, Bill who is great fun and a wonderful husband, no seriously, he is! I have three grown children and two grandbabies, all are adorable,(but, of course). I have many interests, from History to Music, Art to dancing. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I love everything that goes with it, the cool autumn nights, scary things that go bump in the night, the wickedness that seems to be in the air.... I can't help it, it's just the way I am and have always been. Attending Renaissance faires in full garb is such a hoot and is one of my favorite things to do. I find it so interesting to feel like I am in another time and another place in the past...my horrible french or british accents are always good for a laugh or two... I belong to that notorious group: the Red Hat Society and have such fun with those crazy ladies who have become more like sisters than friends.....I may be "older", but in my head I am still 19 and believe that life is short, so laugh everyday as much as you can, it will all be over too soon.

My Interests

I love attending Renaissance faires around the country. My husband and I just dress for the period and go for the fun of it. Reading, I love reading! Among many other things, I enjoy scrapbooking, painting, dancing, history, pop sub-cultures. For fun I joined our local Red Hat Society, which happened to be ladies I went to school with years ago and are a fun bunch of ladies, sisters and friends.THE END OF THE TOUR 2006

I edited my profile at Freeweblayouts.net , check out these Myspace Layouts!

Music:

I like many types of music, Classic rock, pop, alternative, new age, classical, blue grass celtic.Among my favs are: CLAY AIKEN, Nick LaChe,GreenDay, David Bowie, Tom Jones, The Monkeys, well, I have been around a long time, so the list can go on and on. Being close to St.Louis, I have attended many, many concerts through the years, I'm pretty versatile as far as music goes...no rap or country, that's all...As far as my favorite, LOCAL band, I would have to say 'BLIND DATE'.....(see their myspace)....they are located locally and I have spent many a night dancing the night away listening to these very talented artists. My brother is the bass player, but even if he wasn't, I would still sing their praises.MOVIES: Mostly comedies and horror films. Independant films are great too, "you never know what you're gonna get".. Horror movies are probably my favorite, mostly the blood and guts kind, like Saw, or Texas Chainsaw massacre (Do I have a fascination with saws??)....also, cleverly written movies that really make you think.like the Shawshank Redemption (by Stephen King)...a beautifully written and protrayed movie about survival and circumstances. My favorite movie that this point in time is "O Brother, where art thou?"

Books:

Books? Well, again with the horror books, especially vampires. Have read everything Stephen King has written, Anne Rice (of course, now she's writing about the Jesus, haven't done that one yet), and now, my newest favorite is John Everson, who I met here on MYSPACE and have read some of his work and intend to read more...very well written and creative, plus he's a very nice guy.... Science Fiction is also among my reading material. No romance novels for me....just can't stomach them....yeah, I know, but I can read gore and horror....:-).
