I love to write Horror stories. I have always been intrigued with Stephen King. I love the way he he can make ten pages out of someone walking across the street. I am working very hard to walk in his footsteps.
My other love is wood working. All through high school I never had any interest in it, but one of my jobs that I had to take made me very fond of it now. Wood carvings and paintings are my favorite.
Music:
I like all kinds of music. My favorite rock group is ACDC, and my favorite country stars are Rascal Flats, Garth Brooks, Carrie Underwood. My ultimate singer for jazz is Neil Diamond.
Movies:
Any of the movies from Stephen King. Comedies.

A novel writer is sitting down to write. He has all the tools to do it with: pencils, erasers, paper, typewriter, and his imagination. However, he is unaware that his imagination will get the best of him and will run rampage. The very characters that he creates will torment him, driving him to a state of mind that will disable him from distinguishing fiction from reality.
PROLOGUEThe sound of typing filled the air in a quiet but spacious room. The thoughts of horror poured from his mind and into his fingers making the keys of the typewriter sound musical as he typed feverishly. These were only words printed on paper but these characters would seem to come to life as he wrote, sort of a puppet master making the characters do, as he wanted them to.It’s never easy to get something down on paper, many thoughts goes through a writers head before it’s put into words, and sometimes they have to tap into the evil within themselves to get the right inspiration to get started. I wonder if the evil takes over and finishes the job.JACOB'S CLOSETNow Available!Log onto:PublishAmerica.com

| Friday, November 23, 2007 | No comments posted.Writer Stephen King is his idol.So it's not surprising that a former Hobart man's first novel would be darkly scary.Roy Patten, 41, who moved to Powerderly, Ky., five years ago, has written "Jacob's Closet.""I've always liked dreaming up stories like this. ... I'm a big fan of Stephen King. He's the one who inspires me," Patten said.

He writes a little bit each day in his spare time on a computer."I'd like to become a professional writer," he said. Now that he has his first novel completed, he's working on a second book."It's also a horror book. ... It's about a novel writer sitting down to write with his pencil and his imagination, and his imagination gets the best of him," he said. The online synopsis of his first novel is as follows:"Jacob's Closet" is about a little boy named Jacob who first loses his parents then his grandmother and is sent to live at a children's home. Later he's taken in by a doctor and his three blond-haired sons, who are dead but kept alive by an evil warlock from the West Indies.
