Weddings hit the road for romantic ceremonies By Misty Shultz/Staff Writer... Patricia and Jeff Brast's Annabelle Mansion sits atop a hill west of Burleson. It has been said to have been originally built for county music star George Strait, they said. The Brasts purchased it in 2004 after Patricia saw the beautiful double staircase and fell in love with the property. “My vision for the Annabelle Mansion is to make every bride’s unique fairy tale dream wedding come true by offering a private, pristine venue with five-star services,” Patricia said. Patricia dreamed of creating a “Cinderella” wedding venue. She added an island to the large pond, which has a bridge leading to a gazebo. A crystal cathedral room is modeled after New York’s Tavern on the Green, and a palm garden and waterfall are the backdrop to the mansion’s pool. The mansion also offers a fountain and garden area, tent pad, helicopter pad and honeymoon suite. Ceremonies and receptions can be held anywhere on the grounds. Prices start at $16,975 for 100 guests. She gives a discount for donating to her nonprofit, Jeffrey’s Discovery, a school for autistic children. Annabelle Mansion’s all-inclusive packages will accommodate more than 500 guests. “The bride has no headache,” said Sue Veroneau, event & operations manager. “We handle all vendors for her.” Stephanie Lawrence was married at Annabelle Mansion in March and said the staff is organized. “I planned my wedding in seven weeks, and I couldn’t have done it without them,” she said. Lawrence said she still receives compliments about how perfect her wedding was. “It was gorgeous,” she said. “I can’t say enough about it. I knew I had to get married there once I went.” Annabelle Mansion will be showcased at 9 p.m. tonight on the WE television network’s “Platinum Weddings.” It also won the “NBC Channel 5 Throws a Wedding Contest.”
