Rainforest Action Network

Challenge Corporate Power

About Me

MyGen Profile GeneratorRainforest Action Network (RAN) is made up of organizers, campaigners, staff, scientists, teachers, parents, students and other concerned citizens around the world. We believe that a sustainable world can be created in our lifetime, and that aggressive action must be taken immediately to leave a safe and secure world for our children.

Dubbed “the most effective environmental agitators in the business” by the Wall Street Journal, and a "mosquito in the tent" by Fortune, RAN uses hard-hitting markets campaigns to align the policies of multinational corporations with widespread public support for environmental protection.

We believe that systems of oppression are all interconnected, and that environmental action is integrally connected to struggles for human rights, economic justice, racial justice, indigenous rights, and much more. We strive to ally ourselves with groups working in many different areas and movements for social justice.

My Interests

We're not just about rainforests! Over the last twenty years, RAN's mission to protect forests and their inhabitants has evolved into a multi-faceted master plan. Ending resource extraction that evicts indigenous communities is connected to cleaning up America's addiction to oil, which is connected to climate change and more... In short, we're out to transform the global economy. And we're doing it.

Our efforts concentrate mostly on six major issues.

Forests – Earth's ancient forests are disappearing at alarming rate. Find out why and what you can do.

Climate – Is it getting hot in here or is it just me? There's still time to make the ecological U-Turn we need.

Human rights – Every dirty coal mine or oil pipeline leaves somebody to clean up the mess.

Energy – Are you ready for the Green Rush? The renewable energy revolution is going on all around us.

I'd like to meet:

Inspired and inspiring people.
