BILL FARKAS

About Me

MAKING THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE!
Bill Farkas has been called everything from a "distinguished international businessman" to “The Radical Rocker” depending on which Bill Farkas you Google. Either way, this ex-heartlander is an artist on a mission. Dedicating his art to provocative songwriting, his music presents a unique blend of edgy rock, acoustic melodies and thought provoking lyrics. With his dynamic stage presence, powerful baritone voice and quirky sense of humor, Bill's live shows are an event you will long remember.
Railing for what Plato called "the Common Good" and against the social, economic, and political inequity that plagues so much of our world, Farkas does elicit passion for the underdog. But it would be wrong to simply call him a protest artist. He rejects chronic complaining about the problems in favor of inspiring hope, optimism, and solutions. His famous by-line of "GET INVOLVED or GET SCREWED" suggests pointing out the obvious is simply not enough if we are, in fact, dedicated to making the world a better place.
Farkas grew up sharing the stage in Cleveland, Ohio, with such "young unknowns" as Joe Walsh (Eagles), Chrissie Hynde (Pretenders), and Benjamin Orr (Cars). After receiving his degree in international business, it was "time to get a real job" as Bill wryly puts it.
After a 20-year career as an international IT executive that took him from the frozen harbors of Iceland to the scorching desert of Saudi Arabia... trade missions from Australia to South Africa...and keynote addresses before everyone from the UN to the Bulgarian Parliament, Farkas re-invented himself again. He moved to California, returned to his passion of music and climbed back into the recording studio. (Note: Bill still accepts corporate motivational speaking engagements, schedule permitting. Contact him through this website for details.)
Yes, Bill Farkas is on a mission … He wants to make the world a better place. Isn't it about time you GOT INVOLVED?
About Sea of Mass Confusion...
Bill's current CD, "Sea of Mass Confusion" is a compelling testament to Farkas’ need to get the word out. Pulling no punches, it is an epic endeavor that covers politics as well as social issues. Recorded at Dan Akroyd's mansion in the Hollywood Hills, all tracks were produced by Dito Godwin (No Doubt, Kiss, Great White, Motley Crue) and mixed by Grammy-winning engineer, Stefan Marsh (Keb Mo). S.O.M.C. represents some of the most thought-provoking, powerful messages since the protest rock era of the Sixties.
You can purchase the CD Sea of Mass Confusion or individual tracks and ringtones by going to www.billfarkas.com and clicking on the Unsung Hero Revolution link at the bottom of the Home Page or simply download from iTunes.
The Activists' Forum...
Bill's Activist Forum is a testament to his emerging influence with over 4.5 million readers. The Forum consists of major categories, sub-divided into topics or "threads". Registered users can comment on existent threads, initiate new topics, comment on others' comments (especially interesting during an election year!) or simply "rant". Find petition drives, fund-raisers, organizational "calls to action", candidate message boards, and real-time news covering a wide array of subjects: Human rights, animal rights, environmental issues, legislative and election updates, latest Internet scams, a special category for artists, songwriters, their music and related events, and many more issues-of-the-day.
Agree with him or not, there is no question that Bill Farkas is committed to making the world a better place. As Bill always says... GET INVOLVED or GET SCREWED!!!
