Now based in the ATL, the New Orleans-born/Oklahoma-bred emcee is poised to help push groundbreaking hip hop to the forefront. Possessing one of the most commanding voices since KRS-ONE, REC intends to make a definitive mark in music...period.
Equipped with an incredible lyrical delivery and an undeniable presence, REC simply moves people. Having shared stages with the likes of Devin the Dude, Juvenile, Paul Wall & Michael "5000" Watts amongst several others, BIG REC has become a well-known fixture in the mid-south region for his high-energy performances & lyrical prowess. His debut LP "Chronicles..." birthed notable classics "Nostalgia" & "(Life Is a) Process". The album garnered favorable reviews for its balanced display of positivity, diverse content & storytelling.
REC's sophomore LP, Go Hard...The Album [LIMITED EDITION], is a tribute to his home of 13 years, Tulsa, Oklahoma (aka Thuggtown). Taking his artistry a step further than his freshman effort, "Go Hard..." maintains his well-known respect for the artform, while adding commercial viability to his repertoire. The regional anthems "Go Hard" & the "Go Hard REMIX" (featuring some of Oklahoma's best talent) literally dominated Oklahoma airwaves for the majority of 2007. REC's artistic diversity shines most on the soulful collaboration "Can We Talk?", a tutorial on approaching ladies, featuring up-and-coming R&B/Soul superstar CoCo Jones . This third single is consistenly garnering strong reviews, and is said to be cutting into the female fanbase of hip hop legends LL Cool J & Common.
