In a hip hop world that is dominated with non rhymin niggas and everyone trying to be a G, Manifess is a breath of fresh air. He is the epitome of real hip hop as his rhymes exhibit the most crucial emotions of life...Love, Stress, & Anger, and thus has named his debut album just that.Manifess the ShapeShifta has many strong musical influences like Outkast, Pharaoh Monch, Roots, Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Busta Rhymes, Jay-Z, Fugees, Camp Lo, and most recently Little Brother, this Oklahoma bred MC is the next star to rise out of the Midwest.In late 1993, being influenced by Outkasts first album SouthernPlayalistiCadillacMuzik, Manifess (Marion Milton Jacobs, Jr.) wrote his first real verse. From that point on, he knew he wanted to be an M.C. He continued mastering his craft and in 1996 found himself in the hip-hop group Illa-Outpost which consisted of Manifess, two of his older brothers, Nomadic and Calas, along with other local talent, Sreal and female MC, Micah. With no major successes, the group disbanded in summer 1997. Still seeking to achieve his goal, Manifess and his older brother Jonathan aka Nomadic founded their group NTLX (Negroes Thinking Logically eXisting). Again, this group garnered minimal success leading to another group break-up. At this point, life was about to change drastically for Manifess.Manifess married his high school sweetheart Atlanta Martin in December 1999 and few months later, she gave birth to their son Makhi. Only five months after the birth of their son, Atlanta became the victim of a drive by shooting while sitting at a stoplight. After her death, Marion sought refuge through his son and through his music. Feeling that music was the only way to express his many emotions, he pursued it relentlessly. At age 26, Manifess has been threw a lot but it is his voice (that he takes pride in changing up from time to time), and his lyrical ability that sets him apart from the next cat trying to come up. Manifess is the true essence of classic hip hop.Due to his lyrical talent and the emotionally charged content of his music, Manifess has gained a significant fan base in Tulsa, OK and regular rotation on radio. He has done radio and television spots to promote himself, opened up for Mike Jones, Twista, Trina, LiL Flip, Chamillionare, Dem Franchize Boyz, Chingy, Capone N Norega. Performed in numerous shows at clubs in Tulsa,Ok and New York. Has recorded with Royce da 5'9" at Saltmine Studios in Phoenix, AZ, and now seeks to share his amazing lyrical skills and love for hip-hop music with the rest of the world!The best style that represents Manifess is: Love, Stress and Anger, which will be the title of his debut album.
