When you think of hip hop music we think of artist like 50 cent jay-z and other big time rappers but then you have the guys that are trying to make it big. Jaspa Kings are a hip-hop/r&b group that happens to be Native American from Tulsa, Oklahoma just being an American Indian rap group they have made a big splash in the hip hop scene in Oklahoma. This groups consist of four members and they are all brothers the name Jaspa Kings came from the streets they grew up on. Native American groups and rappers are not well known in this style of music. The Jaspa Kings has made it one of their goals to make it mainstream not only in the native world but outside of that. They were scheduled to release an album back in 2006 but due to unexpected matters it was pushed back, however in the process and a lot of spare time a new member was added and they were able to make their sound the way they wanted it. Working on there album they have released a mixtape called the goodfellas with hit songs like the "Sooner Anthem" and very powerful song called "No More Worries". Now with some performance under their belt and a release of the mixtape they have set their eyes on their first album title 3 kings. Coming out in mid march they hope that this album takes them to the top of the hip hop world not only among the natives but all people. (C. Tsosie)
