Nikolaus Schapfl is a composer and pianist, 1963 born in Munich and living in Salzburg.
He studied composition at the University of Music "Mozarteum" in Salzburg and at the Vienna University of Music and Dramatic Arts.
He wrote contemporary classical music: An opera "The Little Prince" based on Saint-Exupérys novel. This opera was premiered in 2003 in the Great Hall of the Mozarteum and has been played from 2004 to 2007 25 times in 8 different cities by 5 different orchestras.
Nikolaus Schapfl wrote as well "Lieder" (CD "Wandlung-Transformation"), music for violin and piano (CD "songs without words"), a string quartet, orchestra music, film music ("Der Templer", 2002) and different kinds of ensemble-music. Official Site___________________________________________
