Tatjana Vorel, composer

About Me

Tatjana Vorel was born in Krizevci, Republic of Croatia. Since earliest childhood, she began to show affinity in music – starts to play on Piano at age of 4. This was early mark of the future growth in music and together with music. Today, Tatjana main interest in music is composing. She perfected composing skills by number of recognized Croatian composers, like Davorin Kempf, Ruben Radica and Berislav Sipus. Some of her compositions are successfully performed in Croatia and abroad (Austria, Italy, Germany, USA). Part of Tatjana vocal work is recorded and published. Her style is lyric, but in same time with modern approach to the music expression. Some of the composition work can be aligned in opus: - for solo instrument (Harp, Piano, Flute, Cello, Horn, Marimba, Organ...) - for voice with Piano accompaniment (Soprano, Mezzo-soprano, Tenor, Baritone) - for solo instrument with Piano accompaniment (Flute, Clarinet, Horn, Cello...) - for mixed Choir - for varoius chamber ensembles, and - opera.Part of Tatjana music life is, without doubt, conducting. Since she was always close to the vocalists, either through compositions or teaching, most of conducting work was with choirs. Tatjana was assistant conductor to the number of prominent choirs, like Zagreb Philharmonics Choir, girls choir “Zvjezdice” (one of best girls choir in this part of Europe) as well as many others. But, not only for choirs, Tatjana was also assistant conductor of the Railroad Brass Band from Zagreb.Outside composing and conducting, Tatjana Vorel is active in music pedagogy. Since finishing the study of Music Theory and Composition at Music Academy in Zagreb (Croatia), Tatjana is teaching almost all theory themes (Solfeggio, Harmony, Polyphony etc.) at Music School “V. Lisinski“ in Zagreb. Within her pedagogy work, Tatjana achieved appreciable results, where so called “inductive“ approach (specialized by herself!) has result with numbers of successful students and musicians. As performer and pianist, Tatjana Vorel is also active. Parallel to the study of music theory, she attended to full time study program of piano in class of the prof. D. Stanetti. Later on, she was participating on two year study of the Organ, at the Institute of the Church Music in Zagreb, in the class of the prof. Mario Penzar.
