About Me

Formed originally for the purpose of a paying gig back in december 2003, Trioizm proved to be one of those strikingly wild chemistries that just happened, and no one could deny it. So there it began! Although now defunct as of Fall 2005, the band brought together Dave Z Marsalek {drummer} of Spizm & The Chicago Junglebop Syndicate & Doppler Shift /// Felix Moreno {bassist} Future Rock & the effects-laden tenor sax of Joe Grez {CJS/The Yellowhouse}. Trioizm is a powerhouse merger of some of the finest in the Chicago live experimental dnb/electroacoustic/jungle scene. Since forming, this sound has exploded on the chicago scene like wildfire. Members of Trioizm have moved on to form a 2-piece version for several shows at the end of 2005, The Muse Cafe , Steps(74) with Brian Niebuhr-trumpet (doppler shift) & Matt Golombisky-bass/loops (qmr plus/grilly biggs). The Junglebop revolution has now evolved, incorporated more kindred adventurous souls in the formation of the CJS. The Chicago Junglebop Syndicate is an active collective of jazz & experimental Chicago improvisers that merge the instrumentation of the classic bebop combo & live jungle/DNB electro-acousticism. Together these electro-acoustic jazz players in shows and recording sessions all over the city. Keep the eyes and ears peeled!
Trioizm represents a bridge between jazz/improvisation, break-beat/jungle, and loungy down-tempo...like Bebop & Jungle fused. Trioizm has an EP demo recorded May 2004 with 2 originials (kabop & fizzure) and 1 remixed standard (Monk's Bemsha Swing). Most recently, and right before the split (ie-leaving of Felix) Trioizm released a full-length entitled "Jungle Bop" on Chicago's I.Z.M. Records, which is available through contact on this myspace profile, on the Trioizm WEBSITE & directly at CDBABY
This is a Jungle revolution but now it's occuring organic, not solely programmed. Electo-Acoustic Hybridization, samples, tweeked mixing boards and mics, loop stations, integrating with live sax, dropbass, trapkit. Live modern jazz break beat jungle. This form of Chicago-evolved Jazz, direct from spiz' hometown, baltimore, is taking place regularly at Muse Cafe & Darkroom. Check dates for live IDM/jungle/DnB workshops and jam sessions at http://www.myspace.com/musecafe for more info. 1st thursdays at The Muse - The Electro-Acoustic Workshop featuring 7 League Boots & 3rd Thursdays The Jazztronik Experiment w/laptop-dj Don Solo {Funk the Metal-sonotheque}. IZM Records for more info on The Live Jungle scene here in Chicago and what this prodigous local label has to offer the national and international scene at large.
