About Me

Tina Sugandh represents the next wave of global music. As a singer, songwriter, tabla player, guitarist and dancer, Tina fuses pop music with the traditional sounds of Bollywood. The result? Features in mainstream print magazines around the world, major motion picture soundtracks, an ABC Television theme song, appearances and performances at acclaimed awards shows and events throughout the US and abroad, and all this, prior to the release of her debut record. At the age of five, Tina began performing around the world with her family. The Sugandh Family performed everything from traditional Indian music to Bollywood, singing in seven different languages. The result: Tina is a seasoned performer with an electric stage presence. She has even garnered the nickname “TablaGirl” for her proficiency on the drums that are typically dominated by male players. Tina has spent significant time traveling abroad, collecting traditional Indian instruments to be used on her album, and has seamlessly woven the sounds of India into the texture of her western pop music. She is excited to put the finishing touches on her album, due out in 2008 on Razor and Tie Records. Part pop, part Bollywood, Tina Sugandh is like nothing you have heard before.

I LOVE their stuff!

Me on the cover of the new SAPNA Magazine. I had so much fun at the shoot!

Me on the cover of BiBi Magazine. I absolutely love this top!

Ahhh...the infamous "Rave" cover. You're not supposed to wear shoes while playing the tabla (which is why I perform barefoot in ALL of my live shows), but some of the press didn't realize that this was merely a photo shoot and that I wasn't actually playing.....quite a bit of controversy!

The "Nirvana Woman" cover. The clothes aren't exactly "me" but it was tons of fun to feel so glamourous!!

Me on the cover of "iStyle". Ok, believe it or not, the beads behind me are at the entrance to a restroom in some swanky NY joint. Strange place for a cover shoot, but gorgeous setting! (Good eye, "iStyle" team....)

This was a Tsunami benefit at the HP Pavillion in San Jose. It was amazing to perform in a venue for 20,000 people.
