Teddy roots his music in improvisation, inspired by the moment and the audience. Often compared to the funky, soulful jazz musicians such as Grant Green and Eddie Harris, you also hear artists such as The White Stripes and Beck influence his sound. His music is fresh, ever evolving, and lays out his immediate and unfiltered response to our society and times.
Late 2006 welcomes the release of Teddy..s debut solo recordings: ..Blueprint of Soul... The album consists of songs written in a stream of consciousness, tracks done in one take, and unforgettable improvisational grooves. The result is a funky Friday-night record. From the liner notes:
"...wrote this music on the spot. All of the tracks were done freely in one take within the spontaneous creative process: a moment, the muse, let it flow, hit record, funk it, press stop, overdub, and play it loud."
Teddy Presberg is currently playing the music from "Blueprint of Soul" live with his new band: The Red Note Revivalists.
