I’m finally on myspace! Ben grew up in Selkirk, Manitoba and got his start playing saxophone & piano in jazz and rock bands. He has recently relocated to Toronto where he is completing a masters in music, studying saxophone with Tim Ries.Since his early years Ben has played in a variety of styles and musical settings. He has experience playing Jazz, Funk, Rock, Blues, Celtic and Folk music. He has been a part of many diverse musical ensembles, often managing and directing the groups. He has played festivals such as the Jazz Winnipeg Festival, Winnipeg Folk Festival, and the Brandon Folk Festival, as well as other concerts, restaurants, clubs, bars, private parties, etc. His most recent projects include the The NuPhunk Orchestra, The Dietschi-Cramer Trio, and the Ben Dietschi Quintet.Ben’s style reflects his love for a broad spectrum of music, and a willingness to seek out new directions.
