About Me

Joel Visentin is an up and coming piano player based in Toronto Ontario. Originally from Winnipeg he moved to Toronto two years ago to study jazz at Humber College and to establish himself on the Toronto music scene. In Winnipeg his main teacher was the great pianist and bandleader Ron Paley. He is currently a student of Cuban Piano legend Hilario Duran. Coming first from a classical background Joel got into jazz in highschool and began absorbing everything he could from the musicians on the Winnipeg jazz scene. Coming to Humber he has had the fortune of learning from many of the heaviest musicians on the Toronto jazz scene such as Ted Quinlan, Brian Dickinson and David Virelles to name a few. While his main focus and passion is jazz, Joel has an interest in all styles of music from funk r&b to traditional cuban music. Joel has performed in a variety of settings both in Winnipeg and Toronto with a number of different groups. No matter the setting Joel is determined to continue to grow as an artist and as a musician
