Peace and prosperity to all - starting today!

About Me

In her cultural hometown roots of Queens, New York, Trudee Lunden started playing guitar, writing words and music while still a youth in grade school. After moving to Los Angeles to attend college, Trudee soon achieved a Bachelor of Arts in Music with English and Business Minors from the University of Redlands, California. As a lifelong music enthusiast growing up listening to radio, it was only natural that she also served as Disc Jockey and Music Director for the connected collegiate and community airwaves of KUOR-FM.
Amidst her studies, Trudee also took songwriting lessons with legendary Tommy Boyce, and later moved to Nashville, Tennessee to fine tune her storytelling skills. Throughout her career, she has been an active member of numerous professional organizations including The National Academy of Songwriters, Los Angeles Songwriters Showcase, Nashville Songwriters Association International, Santa Clarita Valley Blues Society, SongNet, Los Angeles Songwriters Co-op, and Songsalive! She is affiliated with BMI and her music publishing company is Scaramouche Music.
Trudee’s work has received accolades from Billboard Magazine and Travel Weekly Magazine. Her song “Good Friends” was featured in the documentary “Unconditional Love: The AIDS Heartline Story” – a film depicting how St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Redondo Beach, California reaches out to support those in need.
Trudee’s background incorporates advertising and marketing expertise, and her songwriting specialty is crafting catchy lyrical and melodic hooks that can sound like commercial jingles. Her songs reveal many topics and moods – from silly to serious – for mass emotional appeal. She loves to sing and embraces all musical styles, marrying words and music to fit each composition as a unique, individual creation.
On a personal note, Trudee is also focused on the environment, sustainability, peace and natural health alternatives. Her catalog includes songs that reflect the social and political concerns permeating society today, and she is developing material for a concept CD to promote positive change.
As a travel aficionado and resident at one time or another of the three main US music cities (NY, LA & Nashville) she's always open to meeting or collaborating with like-minded folks from around the world, so please send a message and say hello!

My Interests

Music:

Band Website: For now, just check MySpace :-)
Band Members: Trudee Lunden - Songwriter and Vocalist...How fortunate to be supported by a wide variety of extremely talented co-writers, musicians, engineers and producers who are "instrumental" in helping me develop my artistry and sound. Noteworthy friends include Ed Tree, Ace Baker, Sunny Hilden, David Stone and my first co-writer, John Jorgenson. Many thanks to all - you know who you are!
Influences: I enjoy listening to all kinds of music, from hard rock to opera. I believe music is truly the universal language of humankind, able to strike an emotional chord with or without words. I watch my cousin’s two year old "dance to the music" nonstop and I’m sure she doesn’t understand all the words, but she’s sure digging the sound and it’s having a huge impact on how she feels!

I’ve found my most accessible songs are a gift from a higher source. Ideas often come to me in flashes of inspiration (especially in the shower!) and simply pour from the spiritual self. Here are just a few of my ultimate all time faves whom I try to emulate:

Favorite bands: The Beatles, Eagles, Allman Brothers, Steve Miller Band, Dixie Chicks, Chicago, CSN&Y, Poco, Fleetwood Mac and Sly & The Family Stone

Favorite solo artists: Martina McBride, Cyndi Lauper, Madonna, Bruce Springsteen, Anita Baker, Gloria Estefan, Billy Joel, Elton John, Linda Ronstadt, Patty Loveless, Alison Krauss, Collin Raye, Luther Vandross, Sting, Bryan Adams, John Jorgenson and Brian Brazil

Favorite songwriters: Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, Carole King, Bernie Taupin, Diane Warren, Gary Burr, Gretchen Peters, Tony Arata, Craig Wiseman, Jeffrey Steele and Ace Baker

Favorite songs (that I didn’t write!): Born To Run, Imagine, With A Little Help From My Friends, Independence Day, Vogue, Mona Lisas and Mad Hatters, Long Time Gone, Landslide, I Saw The Light, So Far Away, You’ve Got A Friend, Space Cowboy, The Joker, Life In The Fast Lane, Get Over It, Ships, Can’t Make You Love Me, The Power of Love, Please Come To Boston, Tiny Dancer, Dancin’ In The Dark, Here I Am, Whip Appeal, God’s Will, Change The World, The End of The Innocence, The Heart Of The Matter, Treat Her Right, Armstrong, The Song Remembers When and Love, Me
Sounds Like: Genre/styles I compose include: Pop, Rock, Folk, Americana, Country, R&B, Adult Contemporary Ballads, and even Children's music. I write whole songs - words, melodies, music - or sometimes just words and/or melodies to tracks. It really depends upon the project.
Record Label: Shall we call it a CD Label? No plastic, please!
Type of Label: None
