Formed in April 2004, 15 Times Dead take their speed, power and melody from some of the major rock and metal bands of the seventies, eighties and nineties into one powerful outfit.
Described as a high energy, fast and powerful metal act, the self proclaimed Godfathers of Girth Metal burst onto the Glasgow metal scene and in their first year reached the Scottish Final of Emergenza playing to a packed Carling Academy in Glasgow with the judges calling them "A powerful act with a very distinct style and a lot of energy on stage" culminating in Andy winning the best bass player on the night.
Since their first gig at the 4th Rat Arsed Biker Rally in Oct 2004 the band have cemented their place as one of the stalwarts of Glasgow metal, priding themselves on their explosive and entertaining live performances
The band continued to grow in 2006 producing a four track demo, Gathering of Skulls while also taking their first trip outwith Scotland to play at the Godless Festival in Stoke, sharing the stage with 30 other unsigned bands from across the UK. In 2007 the band brought in Dave Reeves on drums to bring an exciting and wholly new dynamic to the band.
Terrorizer listed them as one of the new wave of thrash bands to look out for in 2007/8 and the year culminates with the self produced digital single - Ride the Pain that paves the way for their first full album in 2008.
The year has already kicked off with key support slots with Panic Cell, Blitzkrieg and Blaze Bayley receiving rave reviews while also being the main headline unsigned band at the inaugural Monsterz of Rock & Metal Festival in Dundee. The band won their way through to the UK Finals of Bloodstock Unsigned but unfortunately didn't make it through.
In July 2008 15 Times Dead as a band decided to call it a day.

Live Reviews Katy Whitelaw - Live Music Direct
"The thrash metal act is high energy, fast and powerful from their first song to their last"
Alaine - Live Music Direct
"The 'Godfathers of Girth Metal' managed to get the somewhat reluctant crowd to respond by using a mix of great tunes and banter. The bass player was playing an instrument shaped like something satan might consider using if he was ever asked to play a wee tune for his minions, and had an attitude to go with it. In fact they all did. Smouldering anger seemed to ooze from everyone, and was reflected in the great mix of songs they provided their audience with. Their tunes ranged from one end of the metal spectrum to the other, with their influences, to name but a few, ranging from early Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer. My favourite song on the night was by all accounts a new one called ‘Deceit’ which produced a guitar riff good old Dimebag would have been proud of achieving. 15 Timed Dead put on a great performance that was gratefully received by the crowd. Long live Old School Metal!"
Scottish Music Network Gig Reviews
"15 Times Dead are most definitely supervillains. Frontman Scotti Watson is shaven-headed and intense, like the rock equivalent of Lawrence Tierney in Reservoir Dogs, and is in total command of the stage as tracks such as the standout 'Psychokill' bludgeon the audience into submission. Their Pantera-esque attack is proper, no-nonsense metal, and they sound like they've been together way longer than two years. Be afraid of 15 Times Dead. But in a good way."
"15 Times Dead - a more straightforward proposition than Donphobia, but no less energetic. Well-drilled classic thrash (the band are the self-proclaimed "Godfathers of Girth Metal"), played with power and precision, and a hefty dose of vitriol. It was a short, sharp set of perfectly honed brutality that left the audience gasping for more."

Dead Ernest of Mermaid Rock Promotions with his review
"To separate the two tribute bands, we thought that original band 15 Times Dead would fit neatly between Maiden Scotland and last act Volts. We were right! They came on stage and erupted into this supercharged set of searing metal that owed more to the mighty Metallica than anything, only without the thrash of the early band and without the sweetness of the later band, instead substituting these for a far more directly heavy metal approach, with guitars blazing and fierce vocals commanding the attention of the vast audience, song after song. That a lot of the audience elected to remain headbanging at the front of the after the Maiden set, was a testament to just how highly regarded and red hot in action, this band undoubtedly is."

CD Reviews Unsigned Magazine - Gathering of Skulls Review
"A short and sweet demo consisting of just two songs, 15 Times Dead rock like fuck with what can be described as contemporary thrash metal. Imagine a collision between Therapy? and "Kill 'em All" era Metallica and you won't be far off. This CD is full of energy and is a short, sharp kick to the knackers! Heavy fucking metal indeed! - 8 out of 10"
No More Room in Hell Promotions - Gathering of Skulls Review
"Scottish band 15 Times Dead are here with their latest demo 'Gathering Of Skulls'. Their style is pure old school metal with elements of thrash here and there too. Its pretty fast with clear vocals and good sturdy riffs and bass lines. Musically 15 Times Dead are nothing intricate and the way they perform isn’t spectacular, but their sound is pretty good and very enjoyable. First track on the demo is 'Bullethead', a track which demands you nod your head along too it all the way through. 'Respect Thru Fear' relies on a strong powerful drumming back bone and crunching riffs to truly take effect. It’s pure thrash from start to finish and keeps 15 Times Dead’s fast and hard hitting style going. This is very much my thing and I can’t wait to hear more from this band. 15 Times Dead get 7 zombies out of 10."
Savage Promotions - Gathering of Skulls Review
"As the opening riff of the first song 'HASTE' in this 4 track demo plays, you know what your going to get from Gathering of Skulls... Nothing but total thrash metal that is a joy to listen to.
The instrumental work on this demo is brilliant and the vocals effortlessly fit on to the punishing riffs and pounding rythm section making 15 times dead a force to look out for. With enough guitar flourishes to keep you happy and four tracks of what modern thrash metal should sound like, 15 times dead have certainly left a mark on us and they will do the same to you. 9/10"
Andrew Pennington, Metal Team UK - Gathering of Skulls Review
Scottish lads 15 times Dead, The Self Proclaimed 'Godfathers Of Girth Metal' have dished up a 4 track CD for us. Formed in 2004 these lads take influence from 70s, 80s and 90s rock and metal acts.
That they do, balls to the wall old school thrash. 15 Times Dead seem to be heavily influenced by old Metallica. This is the kind of music that goes down well live...these guys can write a good song.
A great start and I'm sure we will hear a lot better from this band. Keep it up!
