Elysium is a band from Stoke on Trent, England that has been making music since early 2007. The band currently features Graham Worthington (ex Minus one and Diffuse), Wayne McNicol (ex My Inflicted Scars and Diffuse) and Paul Cawley (ex This Modern Fiasco). Elysium recorded their debut EP 'The Darker Side of Light' in August 2007, and have earned themselves a loyal fan base, record label interest and respect from musicians and fans alike.
When the local band Diffuse broke up in late 2006, a bewildered and disheartened Graham decided to continue writing and see what happened. Originally he intended to record a collection of songs alone, until Wayne who was also from the recently disbanded Diffuse, showed an interest in the project. Dan from the band Feed the Enemy agreed to join as the 'project' began to turn into a full band. Several drummers later the band stumbled upon an (at the time) unknown local drummer named Paul Cawley who fitted in perfectly on a musical and personal level.
'The Darker Side of Light' EP is currently available totally FREE for anybody who would like one! The only thing you ask is that you copy it and hand it out to anybody who will listen. Copy it too anyone, upload it to torrent sites, send it to mates, play it at parties/gigs we dont mind! Just message the band for a copy! The tracks on the EP display the bands ability to tell a story through the music ranging from ambient and delicate sections to more heavy almost death metal parts.
