The Premuim Brand of Scottish Thrash Metal !

About Me

The 'Premuim Brand' of Scottish Thrash Metal.

The brainchild of Calum Henderson and Greg Corlett, Amok formed in early 2004. Angered at the then Metal Scene in their native Glasgow, along with the never ending conveyor belt of Nu-Metal nonsense on the larger scale, the pair decided to take it upon themselves to mix things up and try to write the fastest and most relentless songs they could. Weeks of song writing and home-based recording provided the foundations of their soon-to-be band and within weeks a strong lineup was formed with friends and local contacts from the Glasgow Scene.

The Band's sound has evolved much through time and the result has became Amok's easily distinguished sound they call the 'premuim brand'; fusing together speed, aggression, power & melody, the end productis Amoks distinctively heavy, yet very accessible brand of Thrash Metal.

The live circuit has saw Amok prosper the most - even from early shows - they have came out with all guns blazing! Their philosophy simple: to annihilate every other Band they play alongside! Amok thrive on breaking the mould and pride themselves on giving one of the most intense, powerful & memorable performances your ever likely to see from any unsigned band in the UK!

Throughout their many gigs, blood has been shed, bones broken, vomit induced and equipment destroyed as Amok launch their relentless attack on the unsuspecting Metal Scene! Their hard work, determination and growing popularity has made them become a staple within the Glasgow Metal Scene and seen them duly rewarded with support slots for Bands such as Bolt Thrower and God Dethroned, as well as enabling them to forge friendships with Bay Area Thrash legends Heathen and Exodus Guitarist Lee Altus.

Thrash Metal is far from dead!!!

Sounds Like: "A glaswgian band, heavily influenced by the bay area. All three tracks from this demo could be outtakes from the classic fabulous disaster, which is a big compliment, and like Exodus, Amok have the knack of writing instantly memorable songs, chock full of creative riffs, which can either carry a serious message like "Kill the Gestapo" or like "Thrash Island", be just for fun!" 7/10 -Terrorizer Magazine.
"From the offset this band had me captivated as well crafted thrash songs were delivered with the upmost conviction and a togetherness that few bands of their short lifespan are able to grasp. Their accessible sound is complimented by the charismatic energy of frontman Stephen Matulewicz along with the unrelenting passion on display from the band as they pack a heavier than thou thrash metal punch!" - Metal Team UK.
