About Me
The Beginnings of an Emergence
Few people still celebrate Christmas with the intention to truly serve its religious agenda.
Most folks unwittingly observe the holiday because of its place as a worldwide pop-culture phenomenon and they see it as an innocent and natural part of the mainstream, without ever realizing the origin(s) of why this date has become so beloved to them. Far more of the world’s inhabitants will never even stop to think about whether or not this celebration conflicts or contradicts any of their own beliefs. Mommy and Daddy had a X-mas tree, as did their parents, and so on…
It’s pretty damned obvious though!
I mean for ‘Christ’ sake, the name says it all: CHRIST--MAS.
Even for those of us who might not personally celebrate it, we've all been forced into situations that have required us to participate in this Pagan-turned-Christian holiday ritual.
Let’s say you just started a new a job and every year they have a Pollyanna… you sure don't want be the jerk that screwed Bobby –from two cubicles over- out of a gift. Maybe it's your first holiday with your girlfriend's family, and you just assume that bringing presents is the proper thing to do because that’s their tradition too.
There are hundreds of different scenarios and we've all been in these uncomfortable situations a few times, which is why Emergence Day was created.
Now when you participate in such matters, you should feel good about it because it will be in the name of Emergence Day, and not due to some guys alleged birthday of whom there is no actual proof that ever existed, or because you’re just so happy that some fat weirdo elf-man is breaking into your house that night to leave you gifts.
E-Day is the oh-so-necessary celebration of the continued survival of the human species -without any religious acknowledgement, whatsoever.
In philosophy, systems theory and the sciences, emergence refers to the way complex systems and patterns arise out of a multiplicity of relatively simple interactions. We have not chosen this word for its scientific implications (although, it does add a few levels of meaning to our basic point -spiteful as its intentional use may be) but rather as a nod to life “emerging†from the water to the land.
Truth-be-told, we really should’ve called it “EmergING Day†since that’s more specifically what we’re getting at, but it just doesn’t flow from off the tongue quite the same.
Human beings have come too far as a species to model our moral standards and way of life after any certain mythology books and some old-timed repeated and uninvestigated nonsense.
These books, if written today by a modern writer, would probably be found at your local Barnes&Noble in the fantasy/fiction section next to Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, or pretty much anything by Bill O’Reilly. (Yea, we’re not above cheap-shots, either)
I'm sure they still would have made the NY Times Best Sellers list and the writers would receive a deal with a major studio to produce an epic motion picture and it probably would have grossed millions of dollars at the box office.
Oh, wait… That kind of already DID happen a couple times, huh?
Seriously though, it is absolutely incomprehensible how people can't understand that these are just old books.
All supposed “holy books†or “gospels†are nothing more than ancient literature containing myths that were endlessly altered and continually revised. These are simply orally-passed traditional stories borrowed from other cultures that were told around camp fires by parents to children so they could learn the difference between this and that, but never written down. There are so many different variations of the same basic ideas, but the ones that now seem the strongest owe their fame to nothing more than chance timing and luck. These are little more than the newest version of the myth during the time when things were finally being put into print and better circulated among the people.
Let’s show the world that we can remove the religion out of the holiday season and still have a holiday that can be enjoyed by all of humanity just the same. All we’re really saying is that humanity needs to wake up and sever these religious ties that restrict our progression as a species and taints our children’s minds with sugar-coated hatred and racism that’s disguised as Jesus’ love/etc.
Emergence Day adheres to no specific tradition in order to commemorate and can be whatever we/you choose to make it.
You can keep the tree, just replace the angel or star at the top with an evolution-fish and BANG! = X-mas tree turned E-Day tree.
The list of similar examples and replacements are endless.
Is this being petty?
SURE.
Is it really necessary?
ABSOLUTELY.
Know that Emergence day is not just a replacement for a religiously inspired holiday but an awakening of the mind.
On Emergence day, we should inspire ourselves to inspire others to think for themselves. With this bit of inspiration we will continue the evolutionary development of the human mind.
This is just one small and seemingly insignificant step but if we work together maybe we can rid our world of all religious holidays, and perhaps one day, maybe even religion.
We wish you all a Glorious Emergence Day!
What is Emergence Day?
This is the official commemoration and observance for the day that humanity began to evolve.
On this day, a newly enlightened breed of human has emerged from the murky waters of religious tyranny and planted themselves firmly onto the grounds of truth and verifiable facts.
Make it known that on Emergence Day, we the people promise to follow the path of logic and reason…
The path that nature has intended for millions of years…
The path for which science has laid down the bricks, so that we can continue down the rightful course towards the progressive evolution of humanity.
Traditions don't have to be established from only one source (Us, here at the E-Day campaign HQ) and since Emergence Day is still evolving as a yearly tradition, you are all encouraged to share with us any specific customs you have adopted for yourselves and your family(s).
(All worthwhile change comes as a process, not as a commandment. Natural Selection comes to mind…)
When is Emergence Day?
The first annual Emergence Day will be on December 25, 2007 and will be observed on this date each year thereafter.
Why this day?
We are merely taking a page from the Christian play-book; by adopting the date from an existing celebration and claiming it as our own.
Why not?
This plan has seemed to work just fine for those religious orchestrators that had originally stolen the date from the Pagans and other ancient cultures before them.
(You don’t REALLY think that’s when Jesus was born, do you? –If so, then we might give you a history book for this year’s E-Day gift!)
We are tired of our children being lured in by the material promises and further subliminal conditioning of a stolen seasonal celebration that is currently unrecognizable from its original origin by the many layers of fictional wrappings that were systematically placed around this date.
This was an intentional move in order to disguise and mislead future generations, so we see the fitting move to be to return the favor –except without all the methodical deception and lies, that is.
If you would still like to give your children, friends, and family members holiday gifts; do it in the name of Emergence Day.
No longer should anyone feel uncomfortable when someone says “happy holidays," so now when those words are uttered; be so kindly to reply:
"Glorious Emergence Day!"
