From playing the tin-whistle in the backseat of her family car on long journeys to performing in some of the world’s best theatres, Niamh’s passion for everything musical has been apparent since her early years. At the age of 4 Niamh commenced her classical violin training through the Suzuki method and had the honour of playing for Dr. Shinichi Suzuki himself at the Suzuki World Conference. Niamh was introduced to Traditional Irish early on but it was when Tony Smith ,renowned Cavan fiddle player, took her under his wing that Niamh fell in love with her native music. Throughout her teenage years Niamh successfully balanced both classical and traditional music , taking part in master classes & competitions, such as the Feis Ceoil, and Fleadh Cheoil Na hEireann, throughout the country, while also an orchestral member of Jeunesses Musicales and Young Dublin Symphonia. In 2004 Niamh graduated from UCC (University College Cork) with an honours degree in Music.Since then Niamh has performed in some of the World's best theatres and concert halls. She has extensively toured the US taking in such prestigious venues as The Kravis Centre, West Palm Beach, Florida, The Ruth Eckard Theatre, also Florida, Three Little Bakers Theatre, Delaware and The Berklee Performing Arts Centre, Boston. In 2007 Niamh released her debut album 'Stolen Kiss' to high acclaim and has recently signed a publishing deal with Faustina Features.
