Born in Brescia in 1974, after studying and experiencing different musical genres such as rock, blues, funk and fusion, he got deeply interested in jazz and improvised music. He studied performance and jazz composition at Berklee College of Music, Boston with Mick Goodrick, Ed Tomassi, Jon Damian, Dave Santoro and many others.He continued his musical education at the Luzern Musikhochschule, studying with Kurt Rosenwinkel, Frank Moebus and Christy Doran. Here he complete a Master and he's also chosen to represent Switzerland during the 17th IASJ Meeting and receive a scholarship to attend it. During the last ten years he had attended courses and masterclasses with Chris Cheek, Brandford Marsalis, Pat Metheny, Stefano Battaglia, George Duke, Wolfgang Muthspiel, Jesse Van Ruler, Scott Henderson, John Stowell, Pat Martino, Peter Bernstein, Walter Thompson, Silvye Courvoisier, Dave Liebman to name a few. In 2003 he founded the Walter Beltrami Trio: The group won the Prize “Incroci Sonori Jazz†in 2003 and recorded its first cd “wb3 – walter beltrami trio†(Philology). From that moment on the group has been playing intensively and receiving very positive feedbacks from critics and public. In 2004 Walter Beltrami won the Prize “Luca Flores†at Barga Jazz Festival as best soloist and was among the 8 finalists world-wide of the “First Gibson Montreux Jazz Competition†at the Montreux Jazz Festival. In 2007 Cam Jazz released the second work of his trio “Piccoli Numeriâ€. He performed with Claudio Puntin, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Franco D’Andrea, Walter Thompson, Moritz Eggert, Mark Foster, Andreas Brandis, Rainer Tempel, Emanuele Maniscalco, Roberto Bordiga, Daniel Kinzelman, Francesco Bearzatti, Francesco Bigoni, Giovanni Guidi, Claudio Filippini, Stefano Senni, Francesco Ponticelli, Danilo Gallo, Fulvio Sigurtà , Piero Delle Monache, Massimiliano Sorrentini, Cristian Judurcha, Riccardo Fioravanti, Lorenzo Conte, Giulio Corini, Valerio Abeni and many others
