Pavement Saw Press is a large small-press poetry-only publisher that publishes full length books in limited editions of 1000 to 1650 copies. We also publish chapbooks in limited runs of 400 plus overage and a perfect bound literary journal once a year in a run of 551 copies. We started in Jaunary of 1993 and our first two publications appeared in January of 1994.
Our literary journal has a theme for each issue which is inflicted upon authors who are accepted for publication. To mention a few of these themes, there is the Whitey Issue, the Minty Fresh Pirate Issue, The Man Po(etry)issue [an all male author interview issue in which we interview various famous poets and stop part way through], The Low Carb Issue (in which a diversified cast of writers slim down active writers by using verses with high caloric burning capacities), and Sells OUT! We also have a feature for each issue, #2 Gian Lombardo, #3 Sean Killian, #4 Sandra Kohler (ended up winning the Whitman Award afterward), #5 George Kalamaras, #6 Julie Otten, #7 Sean Cole, #8 All Male unfinished interview Issue, #9 The Last LAFT: 100 page visual poetry issue, #10 Roy Bentley, #11 Candice Kaucher.
All Pavement Saw Press Chapbooks are published with a heavy duty 80 pound cover stock to surround the durable 60 pound interior paper which is saddle stapled with bits of real metal, all of which are designed to remain strong and endure the fickle tides of literary history.
