About Me

This handsomely produced publication takes a wry look at the modern world through the steamed-up monocle of a more refined age, making helpful suggestions as to how some of the coarseness could be ironed out of our society. Since 1999, the magazine has been displaying languid concern at the decline of moral standards and the raising of hemlines, and believes firmly in the re-introduction of smoking carriages on buses and underground railways. The Chap is in favour of old-fashioned jollity, hat doffing and public whistling, and is opposed to all forms of vulgarity, homogeneity and continental habits such as drinking coffee and spitting.
