About Me

Los Angeles-based Hindge Creek is a band with a checkered past. Founding members Brett and Stephan met while doing five-to-ten at Soledad, Brett on trumped-up meth charges and Stephan busted while running a Russian baby-smuggling ring. After getting each others' back during a floor riot involving filed toothbrushes, they bonded over a shared love of Rick James and the novels of Iceberg Slim. They swore that when they got out, they'd go legit and form a band.Later, Cory, fresh off the set of "General Hospital" playing opposite an emaciated Jack Wagner during the "Death of Scorpio" storyline season, had Stephan valet his Lamborgini at Spago's. After Stephan accicentally plowed the car into an AMC Eagle, the two struck up a grudging friendship, mostly stemming from the ensuing legal settlement. After Cory was fired from the show for his out-of-control quaalude addiction, he found himself penniless and looking for a gig. Remembering Stephan's parting comment about starting a band, Cory dried out, grabbed his bass rig and rang Stephan up.Jim, an electrician hired to re-wire the Airstream trailer that doubled as a home and makeshift recording studio for the three musicians, picked up one of the guitars laying around and played three notes, the opening salvo of "Smoke on the Water." He was then quickly smothered with a rag soaked in ether and woke up hours later to find he was, like it or not, now officially in the band. The name Hindge Creek came from a small rill of water that leaked from the plumbing of the trailer which eventually expanded into a sinkhole that swallowed the trailer, all the equipment, and, very nearly, Jim.

David Blaine Responds

I am the almighty yet strangely aloof "street magician" David Blaine. I so totally already encased myself in a block of ice. In Times Square. For like a bunch of hours. There were news cameras and stu...

Stephan Responds

See, what this band needs (hell, what any band needs) is class. Therefore, if I have to shoehorn our roots-rock Americana thing into an operetta project or two, well, that's the price you gotta p...

STEPHAN IS RUINING MY LIFE

Ah, spring.  When a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of love.  Or, if you're Stephan Cox, to thoughts of doing a full-length cover version of a Gilbert and Sullivan opera.  It's lik...
