HEX has written and studied the craft of poetry in depth for the past six years. She spent a year writing a manuscript for a publishing contract when she was given a new toy, Ableton Live 5 music software. Her mission is to reach people with poetry in a more aurally acceptable form for today’s poetry lovers. She believes that poetry and music come from the soul. Her musical influences are dance orientated but she also loves Pink Floyd, Café del Mar, the Doors, Hendrix, Led Zep, jazz and classical. She embraces all forms of music and believes that it is the only honest language we have.
MAX has spent over twenty years in the IT industry and what he doesn’t know about computers aint worth putting on a stamp. A frustrated sound engineer, he embraced all the aspects of Ableton with relish, researched the subject extensively and mixes and produces HypJoinT music. Max’s inner mind is a most strange and wonderful thing and resembles discombobulated cog-nuts floating around which often comes out in HypJoinT music as dark and chaotic and gives HypJoinT that experimental flavour. His musical influences are Underworld, Aphex Twin, Radiohead, John Lee Hooker, and has recently started listening to Moroccan music.
STEX who has had a long love affair with strong and powerful electro music and cites NIN, Front Line Assembly and Depeche Mode amongst his influences joined HypJoinT and activated the possibility of fusing Hex’s poetry with music. A born motivator with obscene amounts of energy, he drives the HypJoinT sound with bass rythms and lines and also composes and arranges. His ambition is to go to 11 on most HypJoinT tracks and ‘melt people’s faces off’.
HypJoinT played live in the summer of 2007 and enjoyed the experience. They are also enjoying their own personal creative development. A few musicians now have found their way to the relaxed HypJoinT studio and had fun collaborating and exchanging ideas.
HypJoinT are currently working on their album “3-D†and will be completing it in 2008 for release the following year.
