About Me

Swordfish started in Frome, Somerset UK, as the bedroom project of eighteen year old aspiring Breakbeat musician Gully Moore, in January 2007. As Swordfish progressed, Gully recognised the need for an authentic and diverse drum sound, and looked no further than his own sixteen year old brother Dickon. In a test of wider appeal the pair put their developing tracks up on Myspace where they were quickly inundated with praise and cries for more. To their initial surprise, the experiment had been a massive success and the tracks were quickly refined in an attempt to solidify the fan base emerging from the breakbeat scene.

The duo were subsequently approached by German record label Onpa less than a month later, and quickly signed up. They are now planning their first album release for early 2008, with vinyl later in the year. To accomodate live shows, the synth sounds of Jasper Weinstein Sheffield have been introduced as well as the Bass beats of Sam Kearley, with the intention to gig in the near future.
The boys are keen to emphasise that that they do not use apple loops of any kind, they use live instruments and what you hear is all their own work, no cheating and no shortcuts. Swordfish now have their latest tracks up and await a new wave of comments, advice and support from anyone interested.
