"We were thrown right into the experimental deep end from the very beginning as Crescent Shoreline took to the stage. The sound of warm synth came over the PA and my toes began to tingle. This momentary feeling of security was shattered for the first song as the band went head first into heavy stop-start distortion and the front man began screaming into the mic. My first thought was “Here we go againâ€. The style completely changed for the second song however, and the third, and the fourth. A lot of sudden tempo changes, weird time signatures, good use of effects and interesting dynamics in the songs. I couldn’t understand what the frontman was singing most of the time but it didn’t really matter. It was more an experimental mish-mash of sound and atmosphere, which made a change from verse, chorus, verse, chorus. Slightly Sonic Youth in places but who’s comparing! I enjoyed these guys." "It never fails to surprise me how looks can be deceptive - quiet, polite and unassuming off stage, Crescent Shoreline vocalist Adam Girling screamed into life on stage...making everyone stand up and take notice. I've said it before and I'll say it again, a band's frontman has to have a charisma and a magnetism about him which can absorb an audience's energy and throw it right back. In Adam the band have a charming frontman who performs with a passion and a conviction that is alarmingly hypnotic and a joy both to see and hear. But singers don't step out as frontmen, they take the stage as part of a band, and with Tim Leesam and Noah Morgan on guitar, Sam Kearley on bass and Jasper Weinstein-Sheffield on drums, Crescent Shoreline prove to be one raucous tour de force. Sonic Youth, The Pixies, Nirvana and countless other bands have all utilised the quiet/loud dynamic, and it certainly served Crescent Shoreline well throughout this performance. Like Biffy Clyro, the songs can range from a tender whisper and gentle strum on the guitar, to crashing walls of noise with massive distortion and clattering drums - they certainly have strong foundations which could see them achieve really great things."Frome Botb-May 25th
'Next up was the inventive Crescent Shoreline of whom, following the Frome heat, I said: 'Quiet, polite and unassuming off stage, Crescent Shoreline vocalist Adam Girling screamed into life on stage...' and that deceptive quality continued on into the final. It is that unpredictability factor which makes a Crescent Shoreline gig so exciting. As Adam dramatically twists and shouts on stage, guitarists Tim Leesam and Noah Morgan, bassist Sam Kearley and drummer Jasper Weinstein-Sheffield, deliver the dynamic soundscapes which ensure people pay attention. With a riot of abrasive melodies, haunting howls and raw emotion, Crescent Shoreline present the listener with dark passages of noise to explore - far away from the well-worn track. Should you choose to be adventurous and choose to follow Crescent Shoreline's path, who knows what you will discover and where you will end up.'Frome July 7th
