S T A T U E S (formerly Whispering Knees)

Statues (previously known as Whispering Knees) formed in 2003. The band's style is derived from artists such as The Mars Volta, Mansun, Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Oceansize, At The Drive-In plus many others. The end result however, is always unmistakably Statues.After spending their first year of existence writing original material and developing their sound, the band started gigging extensively throughout the UK. Over the past 4 years Statues have been regulars at various festivals and events including an opening slot for The Mystery Jets at the now defunct Fez Club in Reading.The band have so far recorded 3 self-produced EP's and 1 EP with reputable engineer Jim Warren at Keynote Studios, part of LOAD Media Productions in Burghfield, Berkshire. Jim has worked with the likes of Radiohead, Peter Gabriel and Nine Inch Nails.Statues are currently writing new material for a forthcoming EP and are on the lookout for a suitable label.
