Oscar Poche (Oscar P)
Oscar worked briefly at Marvel Comics, and has worked in the entertainment business for the past 17 years, cutting his teeth at New York club impresario Vito Bruno's AM PM Management. In the early 90's he played international roadie for the AM/PM roster of dance stars, among them, Crystal Waters, Noel, 2 In a Room, Lidell Townsell, ILL and Al Scratch, and The Girls Club. He finally got his chance to helm his first project co-producing and co-writing Brother Makes 3's debut album “Chillin’ at a Club” for Cardiac/ Virgin Records. Later he took the A&R position at AM PM, but soon left to start Allen Street Records and the notorious Ground Level Magazine, where he acted as editor for three years. He continued to write, produce, and collaborate on dance and pop projects. He executive produced Extortion's “How Do You See Me Now” (Junior Boys Own/Polygram), and co-wrote/produced Swing 52's hit “Colour of Skin” f/ Arnold Jarvis for Cutting Records, later licensed by Pete Tong's FFRR label. While at Allen Street he and his partners spearheaded a Spanish version of Back Street Boys “I'll Never Break Your Heart” for Jive Records from the album “Millennium,” which sold 12 million copies worldwide. In 1999, he and partner Carlos Ortiz founded Rumba Jams, a small Latin music imprint label inspired by the Fania Records sound and label of the 70's and 80's that Ortiz grew up on. Among the artist albums released were critically acclaimed discs by Los Soneros Del Barrio, Ricky Gonzalez, George Delgado, and Pequeno Johnny, which gave opportunities to some of the world's best musicians to record their own albums, some for the first time. The label quickly established a reputation for quality recordings not seen since the hey-day of the salsa movement, and garnered rave reviews in Europe.

Fast-forward and the music keeps on coming. In the past few years, Oscar P has seen his productions and remixes released on EMI France, Manifesto, Ultra, Rise, Sony/BMG, Virgin, Atlantic, Pow Wow, Radikal, as well as respected labels like West End, Clubstar, Pino Music, Deep Bass, and Vale Music. “I can honestly say, 2007 was a very good year for me,” explains the Santo Domingo native and New York based DJ/producer. “I like to stay busy, which means maintaining a steady schedule of studio sessions, DJ gigs, and marketing projects.” He maintains weekly syndicated radio shows on SSRadio UK and Italy's In Da Klubb 105 FM, which is part of the RTL network and averages over 4 million listeners a day. Oscar has perfected his current DJ style, which mixes Ibiza style beats, Latin, funky, soulful house, and crowd-pleasing anthems. Internationally he has built a following, appearing at notable venues: Café Mambo (Ibiza), Costa Verde Beach, Club Nafoura (Italy), Sho Cho (Dubai), SIN, White House, SE1 (London), KM8 Beach Club, Liquid Room (Singapore), Kudeta, Water Club (Puerto Rico), Disco Seven (Cannes, France), Amika & Nikki Beach Club (Miami), Subliminal Sessions, Sullivan Room, Sol (New York) ..table ..tr
Davidson Ospina

is not new to the club scene, nor is he an old timer hanging on to his rep. There are many sides to the man from Queens, NY. He is a musician in every sense of the word, having played keyboards since he was a teen as well as being a prolific DJ, Producer, Remixer and Web Designer. He embraces technology with the same enthusiasm that he produces a wicked bridge or chord change in a song. In his early teens, he had a passion for playing keyboards, DJing and writing songs. When asked about his influences, Ospina says, “It was my neighbourhood that exposed me to such a wide variety of music. I was really inspired by the New York break-dancing scene. The music at that time was so exciting and made you want to move. I felt the need to contribute to that.” With an impressive list of productions and remixes for English and Spanish artists, 2006 brought Ospina his first #1 hit: the chart-topping remix of Christina Aguilera's “Ain't No Other Man", which hit #1 on the Billboard Club Charts and Radio Charts in September 2006 only 1 week after release. Christina was quoted as saying that it is her favourite remix version. The biggest DJs in the world, from Sanchez to Knuckles and everyone in between are playing his mix. In August, Morales opened his birthday party at Stereo in Montreal with Ospina's remix and the crowds cheered. “Ain't No Other Man” is being heard in clubs all over the world, from the beaches of Australia to Ibiza, where it has become a summer favourite. Davidson Ospina's name and label, Ospina Digital Records, are quickly becoming a household name in the industry and the press.

Ospina's remixing credits include work with Britney Spears, Backstreet Boys, Pet Shop Boys, and Dimitri From Paris. His Spanish-language remixes are also notable, working with such artists as Enrique Iglesias, Albita, Gloria Estefan, and Mark Anthony , as well as projects like Cabas "Tu Boca" and Magic Juan “Ultima Vez”. When asked about it, Davidson feels blessed and gives a lot to being a musician and DJ. “Keyboards opened the door, to working with other producers, and artists. Understanding musical changes keep my productions moving with an artist vocal. At the same time I work at building energy that will keep the dance floor happy. The DJing keeps me fresh, and helps me see what directions the crowds are moving and what is exciting to them directly,” says Ospina.

Davidson's career shifted into high gear with the launch of his record labels, SPINA RECORDS and OSPINA DIGITAL RECORDS. Product from his label can be found on Traxsource.com, Beatport.com and Stompy.com. In addition, his entrepreneurial side created a web design company, TOMA MEDIA, which offers great solutions and tools for people in the music industry. TOMA MEDIA has created groundbreaking software for Publicity, Marketing & Promotional companies. The MP Systemâ„¢, designed by Ospina himself, is being used for the distribution of promotional material for SAW Recordings, Deep Haven Music, Media Services NYC, Ovidpek, and others. By reputation, Ospina can usually be found spinning at the funky underground spots of the Lower East Side in NYC. His gigs in Italy, Spain, Canada and Central America, where he recently toured for Marlboro, have kept his appeal diverse and fresh. Davidson Ospina is firmly rooted in the music industry and continues to thrive in all his endeavours. He's the one to watch for 2008...

THE MIAMI REPORT 2008 by Oscar P
"If WMC was dead!!!! Then Long Live WMC!!!!!"

It's a wrap! Winter Music Conference, in its 23rd year, attracting professionals from over 62 different countries held it's closing parties March 30th. There are countless reasons why people from all over the world return year after year for this event, the most outstanding one being that there is nothing else in the world like it. Currently, the music industry is engaged in a profound structural metamorphosis. CDR's, MP3's, download streams and other new technologies are forever changing the ways in which people create, buy, sell and listen to music. This year, like last, we tried new ways to connect our fan base with WMC's audience and offer them more than just drinks, and parties. We again held some incredible events that also covered business. Ahh yes, business, which everyone claims never gets done in Miami. Well, I beg to differ, not only did we drink, dance, raise our hands up, but we also discussed, connected, and conducted real business with our first annual A&R Digital Summit which was held in between a fantastic line-up of events, DJ talent and artists. Never let it be said that Rome was built in a day, or by one man.

**Wed Mar 26th - New York 2 Ibiza/ Say House Miami @ Dek23

Presented by
Pioneer Pro DJ , M8 Magazine , Media Services NYC , Say House , Sundae Philadelphia , New York 2 Ibiza , Open Bar Music , The Joint , Clubplanet , WMC & fusicology.com

Several days leading into this event, the streets in Miami were lit a-buzz by coverage in the WMC issue of M8 Magazine featuring Louie Vega, Steve Lawler, Oscar P, TV Rock, Groove Junkies, D: Fuse, Carl Cox, Quentin Harris, Sander Van Doorn, Mark Knight, Angelo & Ingrosso. I can now say being seen in the company of several of my favorite DJs has been a career booster.... check the article here

By the time we arrived at DEK23 we were all amped. This was the first of our key signature events of the week, and it’s all we were thinking about all day. We had an insane DJ line-up with Ivan Robles, Puerto Rico, DJ Dove, NYC, Coll Selini, Holland, Davidson Ospina, NYC, Lee Jones, Sundae Philadelphia, Darren Holland London, and for the first time the super hot Jordan Rivera from Holland and myself. This was and is the event when the key DJs from the collective partnerships get together, jam out and show Miami, and the industry how people should work together and prosper, everyone pushing each other, supporting each other. It was surreal. The Say House, and New York 2 Ibiza party brands were building all of 2007, and here we all were once again.

Live performances were fantastic. Ama doing "You Are My House" & DJN f/ Rick Galactik doing "Feel for You." They blew the roof off the venue. Nuff said! It amazed me how many people in the audience knew the words to these records. We had between 400 & 500 people through the door. That made me proud. Was that Carlos and Jessica crying in the corner.... ahhhh too many mojitos, but we were proud. It was a good night, and the start of a great week. After all it was only WED.
"I must say was the best one for me ever. All the hard work & late hours in the studio, preparing releases for the label, tons of emails all paid off there. Because the love, energy and support from people all around the world at the parties, meetings, and even in the street all made me feel like it was all worth it in the end,” states Ospina." Hanging out with friends, business associates this year made our relationships stronger than ever. At DEK23 for our New York 2 Ibiza/ Say House event, everyone showed support and partied all night, a total success. I could not have done it without OPEN BAR MUSIC & Media Services NYC. Thank you Guys."

“Miami, Miami, Miaaami. This was my first time over there but felt home since I put my first foot on land. Finally, talking face to face with all my people. Good for the future business," says Jordan Rivera. "I went to many events in places like Space Miami and others, but the best for me was on Wed @ DEK23. Not only because I was playing, but the vibes where incredible and on the dance floor... people were break dancing, tap dancing, daaamm. You don't see this at a house event in Holland. I can’t wait to come back next year!”

Last but not least we hit up Chez Bubbles aka Steve B, for his comments. Bubbles please speak to the people! “Ahhhhhh Miami, nice, that's what’s up.” A man of few words.
